1. Assuming that Bibi offered everything
Jerome ,   AKL   (03.09.15)
So, where is the peace agreement? It only proves that we have tried everything we can to reach peace, but the other side was not, is not and never be willing to accept a Jewish state in the land of Israel. I rather believe that Bibi was calling their bluff to test the water. Nahum; we might be the same age to remember Horovitz, "tighten your belt and cut in the flesh". Under the left, we lived like in a poor polish village. When Tzipi and All merde (Sic) were in power they sent 160 soldiers to their slaughter in Lebanon 2, instead of an all out offensive against hizbullah. Bibi is the only prime minister to stand for Israel in an anti-Semitic world!
2. Dennis Ross says the opposite
C   (03.09.15)
this document is an american draft presented to the parties in negotiations.
3. Obama can lie, Arabs can lie, Europeans can lie to achieve
(03.09.15)
their goals: only OUR PM cannot use false pretexts to maneuver the treacherous waters of international politics??! So what if he did?! Can't we be just as two-faced as the Ishmael?? Maybe there's a plan, where some written, vague "promise" is inconsequential in the end? The spins, after all can be endless. Just saying.
4. Dear friends....
Adler J   (03.09.15)
ladies and gentlemen, honorable opinion writers, Ynet journalists, readers and Ynet followers: The most important and crucial mission for every candidate willing to be elected Prime Minister of Israel, is the ECONOMY. Do not misjudge reality. Israel needs a Welfare Economist as Prime Minister. One capable to create all the elements necessaries to provide a good human life to all Israelis, clean environment, education, a healthy life. The elected Prime Minister and the government institutions must enable to all citizens to feel they control their own life's, and not the opposite where the government controls all his citizens with excessive taxes and tariffs. Let me make clear, I am not against taxes, every successful economy world wide haves taxes systems. Israel gov is not economically equipped to deal with the consequences of constant wars which just increase unemployment. Israel economy needs to create perfect markets structures because just competitive markets produce efficient outcomes. I had heard several times the slogan "the country needs a change", but when you talk about changing the Prime Minister and you choose a new one that is going to do exactly the same than previous Prime Ministers done, it can't be called a change, or at least not the kind of change that the israeli society expects. I grew up in a capitalist country, and let me tell you this, in the economy science this country haves a lot to learn. To activate the Israel economy whoever becomes Prime Minister his priority must be to increase the social welfare. If Is good for the israeli citizens is good for Israel. if is good for Israel is good for the Prime Minister. Shalom
5. sad to the democracy
neema   (03.09.15)
in israil it is not one man saying in arab world it is one man saying .. bad to both
6. Netanyahu Documents
Kevin J Lee ,   Glasgow/Scotland   (03.09.15)
Looking at Netanyahu history U would have to agree that he did not agree to these proposals, on the other hand if in secret agreed ? then settlement building + Iran = Bombing every ones minds with retoric that convinces he's straight down the Line One State Israel ?.
7. And that's why this is only an OP-ED !
barbara ,   Haifa   (03.09.15)
8. Let's say for the sake of argument that he did offer
tiki ,   Belgium   (03.09.15)
Let's say that after Barak and Olmert he did offer Abbas his state, but Abbas again didn't take it. 3 times in a row a negative means only one thing: Game over! Abbas doesn't want a state next to Israel but instead of Israel. Conclusion? A total reshuffling of the cards because what was a reality than is not a reality today. Like Bob Dylan used to sing "and the times they are a changing"
9. Masses Herd Emotions :Lenin understood it
Zechariah   (03.09.15)
When Lenin dissolved the Constituent assembly in 1918for Rule by the Bolshevic Vanguard he understood democracy is a Lynch MoB.
10. #1 EXACTLY RIGHT!
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (03.09.15)
Wouldn't Abbas take it and run with it to UN? If it is true then it shows Israel made all efforts to make peace.
11. And credible Barnea has kept knowledge of documents under wr
ab   (03.09.15)
-aps ,to be used just before elections .
12. secret agreements with PLO
richard sherwin ,   herzliyah israel   (03.09.15)
at every stage of peace/war discussions there'll be documents summarizing various 'possible' (improbable also) points for consideration. check livni's docs as well. the point of all our past history with docs PLO and Hamas is NONE of them ever made it with the PLO. That's why theyre going BDS and ICC and UN and everywhere but peace with israel. So promises of more talk with them mean nothing to anyone but Obama and Kerry. And speaking of promises. Labor United Zionists platform are full of them. No showing HOW (raise taxes, whose, how much; cut IDF, how much, how) theyre going to pay for what's needed: reorg hospitals, build newer better ones, and better pay for nurses and doctors; how about ALL central israel land the IDF leaves being restricted for low price singles and immigrants housing? and other dreams?
13. #4:Dear Adler, your "doctorate" reminds me of that joke about
(03.09.15)
train wrecks in Czarist Russia: The Czar has had enough, so he ordered the best of engineers to provide solution to the carnage. Many came up with ideas, but none satisfied the Emperor. Finally Yankele, the tailor says "I've got it 100%!" what is it?, asks the Czar. "well you see, what causes the wrecks is that two trains in opposite direction are on the same track, facing each other...they get closer and closer and closer to each other....so all we must do, is to make sure, that a minute before the impact they BOTH STOP!" Et voila....That is about what you suggest Sir. :-))
14. Barnea came to curse Bibi but he blessed him
Zev ,   Israel   (03.09.15)
If all Barnea says is true and not slanted it just proves that there is no partner on the other side and that Netanyahu tried to find a way to reach an agreement. Only a fool will not change his mind when he sees that the way leads to nowhere.
15. The Galut mentality Left like this writer
Reuven ,   RL   (03.09.15)
have only 1 worry even if it will destroy them completely: What will the outside world say? These Galut Jews would be better off not living in Israel but among non-Jews back in Europe. They have no need and certainly no understanding of their own Jewish state.
16. Barnea's credibility
Shalom ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.09.15)
Barnea's original report claimed that Natanyahu offered "drastic concessions to the Palestinian leadership." But: 1. Here Barnea admits that the documents insist on a united Jerusalem. 2. On refugees it says "resettlement of individuals during a definite period and in humanitarian cases" (only). Nothing drastic in either case. Moreover, Barnea continues to ascribe the document to Netanyahu, without disproving the PMO's claim that the Americans formulated the document as a proposed basis for further discussion. So Barnea's credibility is at stake as much as Netanjahu's.
17. Reply To: "Dear Adler your "doctorate" reminds me...
Adler J   (03.09.15)
Oh please, dont call me "Sir", I'm not that old, but thanks for the compliment.
18. To 15
Adler J   (03.09.15)
that was really pedantic
19. lack of credibility
(03.10.15)
Barnea is right that if the document he revealed is true, it reveals that Netanyahu lacks credibility. The problem is that a well-known Netanyahu foe, American diplomat Dennis Ross clarified that the document was written by the Americans and rejected by Abbas, and had nothing to do with Netanyahu. To recover his credibility, Barnea should apologize to Netanyahu
