1. Petraeus' view from the top - in depth!
bob k ,   orlando fl usa   (03.10.15)
It sounds as if his analysis his broadly sound. He planned attacks and campaigns and assessed the results. He agrees with Netanyahu's assessment of Iran's plans for a nuclear weapon and says the door to this 'must be bolted' and not left open as Obama would have it. As for strengthening moderate forces, he might agree that Abbas; continued delegitimization of Israel plus his reconciliation / partnership with hamas - all of which incites against Israel and encourages the many recent murderous lone wolf attacks makes him a failed peace partner. Remember, 6 years of negotiating with Arafat produced a terror war against Israel, no offer could satisfy Arafat. Two years of intense negotiations with Abbas led nowhere and Abbas wasted the last 6 years waiting for Obama to hand Israeli concessions to him on a silver platter. Abbas wants a UN imposed agreement not peace. Netanyahu sees all of this while Obama and Kerry look the other way and spout nonsense.
2. Political Questions
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (03.10.15)
Patraeus was not asked the ten central questions that should be answered by American politicians before deciding to go into the next conflict: 1. Where and how many troops to you plan to raise? 2. How do you plan to raise the troops? 3. How will you pay the troops? 4. How will you raise the TRILLIONS inevitably spent on materiel and equipment? 5. How will you build the hospitals to treat the wounded? 6. How many veteran suicides will you see as an acceptable level? 7. What do you propose for the widows and orphans of the soldiers who will inevitably be killed? 8. How many KIAs and WIAs and POWs will your plan result in? 9. What is your EXIT PLAN? 10. When and how do you plan to start paying for Iraq and Afghanistan?
3. Patraeus should know because
Indi ,   London, UK   (03.10.15)
he gave money and military weapons to the ISIS terrorists. We have to thank Patraeus, the sick psychopath, for his good work at the CIA.
4. General Petraeus should run for US President inspite of his
Rivkah   (03.10.15)
setbacks. He is still a better man and better qualified than a lot of people who want to be US President.
5. One Lone-Wolf-Nuke is enough to wipe us Israelis out,is that
(03.10.15)
so hard to grasp for the idiotic "bring down the housing costs" crowd?! Or the "Milky"-morons? Or the "Peace-Now" cretins? Or the "I'm big-shot, literary arbiter" Amos Oz'es? Or the "Two-State" solutionists? (just made that up, but you know who you are)
6. Enemy list: Assad, Isis, Khaminei
i-defense   (03.10.15)
No solution, without defeating all together. None can be left standing.
7. none of this would have happened
(03.10.15)
There are three main reasons for Jihad's power, both ISIS and Boko Haram. The first is the destruction of Gadaffi, that gave Jihad access to endless weapons and a territorial base. The second is the decision to replace Mubarak with the Brotherhood (that was reversed, but too late). The third is the lack of reaction to the genocide of Christians and Yazidi and Iraq and Syria, until a Westerner was executed. There is one man responsible for these three mistakes.
8. Agreed Rivkah @#4
Israeli 2   (03.10.15)
9. Petraeus is right
Brod ,   USA   (03.10.15)
Petraeus is right about the threats posed by ISIS and Ayatollahist nuke in the region. And Obama persecutes him because of this. Why? Because Obama is the cause of the resurgence of the cancer called Muslim Brotherhood that spawned ISIS, Boko Haram and Ayatollahist nuke threat.
10. I don't think anyone coming out of the CIA should
erin ,   USA   (03.10.15)
ever lead a country. I pray not. This is a deadly snake to be handling. People should be getting leaders who care and are who don't deceive.
11. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.10.15)
1. Doesn't the United States and NATO countries have rather large, well-armed standing forces? Non-NATO countries would be glad to help. 2. See No. 1 3. See No. 1 4. See No. 1 5. NATO facilities are sufficient; Israel has excellent hospital facilities -- certainly the best and most readily accessible. 6. Why are you putting the cart before the horse? 7. Have you heard of the Veteran's Administration? Have you heard of life insurance policies and lifetime benefits for the spouses and children of soldiers killed in action? 8. Depends how it's done, numbskull. Constant, non-stop carpet bombing, as the Allies did to Germany, will not result in very many casualties. DAESH does not yet have the capacity to bring down B-1 bombers (although in this case, the B-52 would be superior, because it can bomb very accurately from much higher altitudes). 9, If you're not using ground troops, you don't need an exit plan. 10. Well, I suppose we could take some of the antiquities and sell them. Or would you rather see them be turned to rubble by Stone Age jackals? Here's my question to you: How did you get to be such an imbecile? Are your parents related?
12. 11@Sarah B.
Birdi ,   Israel   (03.10.15)
Brilliant, as usual. Kudas to you.

Yes, it's too difficult for them all to see. They don't feel it, so they don't see it! Good post. Kudos.
14. Don't forget also
Moukhles Salah ,   Australia / Nablus   (03.10.15)
Enough to wipe Belgium, NY, London, Paris, Cairo, Tokyo, Kabul, Shanghai or for that matter any other city in the world. So what is the special case here for Israel. Pls explain? Remember that North Korea and Pakistan and India and Israel and several other countries possess the nukes!
15. Forget ISIS. Just tell us how Obama assassinated 4 Americans
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (03.11.15)
in Benghazi.
