They are subject to a cessation of hostilities agreement, which they signed, and which requires them not to re-arm and not to build military facilities and not to dig tunnels. They have violated the agreement, which means that Israel is free to go in an finish the job, for once and for all -- destroy Hamas, root and branch. At a minimum, Israel should simply stop allowing building materials into Gaza -- they are being used to shore up tunnels, not to build housing. Israel should also punish Hamas by reducing the nautical miles in which Gaza fishermen and fish, and by prohibiting the export of Gaza food products into Israel and Judea and Samaria. Hamas thinks its being clever. Well, Israel can make it very painful for them. It's not as if Hamas doesn't exact the bulk of the payment from the sale of fish and vegetables by Gaza fishermen and farmers. They do. Israel must batten down the hatches, just as Egypt has. Seal the border. When the people of Gaza have had enough, they will rid themselves of Hamas. 'Tis better to die a free man than to live as a slave, don't you think? Hamas' "leadership" are all personal billionaires and live in the lap of luxury. It's the people of Gaza who suffer, not Hamas. Why should Israel continue to enable Hamas?
