1. it was not a gaffe
(03.16.15)
Was the ethnic cleansing of Gush Katif a good or bad idea? Clearly it was a criminally stupid idea that brought rockets on Tel Aviv, gave Hamas territory, and led to the deaths of tens of thousands of people. Anyone who supported it should be shunned by civilized society. Who was in favor? "Greek Island" Sharon, "Cremieux" Olmert, Livni and every single member of the Labor party list including Herzog were avid supporters. Was the ethnic cleansing done under Likud or Kadima? Although nominally under the Likud name, everyone knows it was done by Sharon and his collaborators as part of their plan to gut the Likud and invent the Kadima party. Now to Netanyahu. He did not support the ethnic cleansing, but he could have fought harder against it, but that is irrelevant: the election is between Netanyahu who could have fought harder, and Herzog who cheered when he saw the humiliated and beaten Jews forcibly bussed from their homes.
2. indeed it was not a gaffe

it was an outright lie, which is what Nethanyahu is best at.
