The type of threats soldiers faced in Lebanon was different than in Gaza. In addition, the distance from the border was much closer in Gaza. Soldiers in Lebanon were in much deeper, making evacuations tougher and more complex. Of course medical technology advanced in 8 years, it makes sense more lives were saved.
