1. hmmmm? didn't even hear about it.
Jake ,   Jerusalem   (04.02.15)
To bad that they don't use posters or some advertising, I would have been interested in seeing it. Perhaps next year they will advertise in Ynet, so we dedicated readers can see how the Temple service was conducted.

A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.02.15)
Animal sacrifice in the 21st Century. They should be ashamed. As for the the Municipality funding this shameful absurdity - what else can one expect from them - serious concern for the needy perhaps?!?
6. poor lamb, I bet it was terrified
iselin ,   oslo   (04.02.15)
That poor lamb knew this was not a normal happening, being carried as it was. It was conscious, could see what was happening. And you are telling me it is kosher? I thought that animal cruelty rendered an animal unkosher.
7. Good For Them
Christy ,   Boston, US   (04.03.15)
Good for them re-creating such a ritual. I would love to have seen it in person. Perhaps it's on Youtube?
8. Heartwrenching
Diane ,   USA   (04.03.15)
Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, the sacrificial lamb. This is why there is no longer a need for these sacrifices. Yet, for some reason when Jesus returns there will be animal sacrifices. The same thing happened when Jesus was slaughtered- people gathered to watch his brutal sacrifice. Yet, so many deny Jesus is the Messiah and just don't understand the Passover was foretelling his own sacrifice....
9. #6 Really you know what a lamb thinks?
History nut ,   Israel   (04.04.15)
From the home of the oslo accords travesty.
10. oh the humanity of it all
sam ,   texas   (04.04.15)
So, practically every animal life form on earth survives by consuming and assimiliating other life forms, harvesting their energy...oh the humanity of it all!
11. the lamb is spotted? the stones are cut?
ben Ish   (04.05.15)
Isn't the lamb supposed to be perfect, i.e., without spots? and the stones of the alter are cut, aren't they supposed be uncut? then again, if the rabbis have a tradition, I'm sure the tradition is strong enough to over turn torah, right?
12. Lamb/Jesus
kyle ,   usa   (04.05.15)
Jesus (the Lamb of God) also knew what he came to do and even though he knew he was to be sacrificed on that cross, He was sorrowful even unto death the night before in the Garden where He prayed to his Father to "take this cup from Me." But as it is written, without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. If God did not sacrifice His son , "The Lamb of God" on the altar for us, There would be no forgiveness of sins.

15. to 14 et al
iselin ,   oslo   (04.07.15)
In civilized countries, animals are stunned, usually with a rubber bullet shot directly into the brain, before slaughter. When the animal is conscious and can see the knife aimed at its throat and is bound or held down, it knows enough of what is going on. Comments like these are probably from people who think that dogs and cats don't feel empathy or get depressed. Ask any vet, who will tell you the above.
16. Pascal Lamb spotted or not, stones etc.
Yosef ,   United States   (04.08.15)
The Jewish notion of Pascal lamb and the one of Christianity are 2 different things. Before leaving Egypt we tied the baby lamb to the bed in what is called Shabbat HaGadol. We tied because it was one of the ancient egyptians gods. We told them we are going to kill your god and spread its blood on the door posts and our G_d will pass us over and kill your first borns, and yes we are going to eat your god. So no disrespect but the whole thing with JC is lost in translation. The lamb has to be unblemished, spots do not have anything to do with that, also lost in translation. Also the passover sacrifice was roasted outside the temple, more likely in fire pits or as interpreted in some parts of the Oral Torah in which I have seen depictions inside a large vessel. The stones of the Temple itself where supposed to be untouched by metal. The 2 altars were made out of metal (1 copper and 1 gold) not stone. 1 burned ketoret or an incense mix and the other one some of the animal parts depending on the type of sacrifice.

I personally worship the cat god, a lot smarter and more enigmatic than sheep, more photogenic, too but hey, the cats in Egypt back then were just too scrawny to eat. Still are. Not a bit practical. But then I don\t eat my cats either. You are correct. All that 2500 year old symbolism is lost in translation. So relevant for today too.

I prefer ASSIMILATION a thousand times over killing a poor lamb just for your idiotic beliefs
19. And I am sick and
Moshe Rabenou   (04.18.15)
tired with all religions and all gods who, as all of us know, were just invented by wise men, to keep the rest in place.........(By the way, I, Moshe, was among the deciders)
20. Judaism is not a serious religion
Peter ,   Jerusalem   (05.01.15)
If jews cared about the torah they would practice poligamy, slavery and a bunch of outdated practices. But they are picky and discard the customs they dont like while they take on any other custon they like. Allowed behaviours get banned, extra mitzvot get created. The religion then is not ancient or traditional, it is whatever people feel like. Just dont know why they insist on the charade of talking about 3000 years of tradition. Eg: Kaparot, Bar Mitzva, Bat Mitzva, the banning of kniyot. All made up.
