I am disappointed that Pope Francis, who is a cool person, and generally checks his facts, committed a really serious factual error. It is important to remember that the FIRST GENOCIDE of the 20th century took place between 1904 and 1907 in Nambia (then a country known as German South-West Africa) when the German (White-European) Government carried out a racial extermination and collective punishment program which resulted in the murder of 110,000 people of Herero and Namaqua (two peoples of black ethnic African) background. The Armenian Genocide carried out by the Ottoman Turks having taken place in 1915 is the SECOND GENOCIDE of the 20th century.

It is said that the first pogrom/intifada/genocidal act of Russian Jews in the twentieth century happened in Kishinev, now in Moldova, on Easter day, 1903. But as crazy uncle Simon Perske says history is so boring. An interesting thing about the Ottoman genocidal attacks just prior to WWI was that the US sent ships to transport survivors, Armenians, Yehudim and others.
6. # 3 So, what's another genocide here or there ?
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!   (04.13.15)
Wasn't it Rome who were the first to commit mass genocide on the Jewish believers and followers of Christ? ( among others ) Yes, and then, Rome became the 'Church' after crucifying all of Jesus Jewish first followers and revamping the writings to suit their practices of worshipping false gods. So many genocides that continue to this day.
