Iran and China got tired of the restrictions Russia put on S-300 sales, so both "acquired" S-300 systems from "other sources" and re-engineered them. Iran and China swapped design knowledge and now have in production their own version which is BETTER than the S-400. Russia is currently deploying the S-400 and prototypes of the S-500, therefore it has lots of surplus S-300 systems to sell . Iran will use the S-300 systems to supplement their existing S-400 clone systems making attacking Iran even harder. BTW - S-300 is NOT junk as one poster claimes - it is very deadly and the S-400 is even more so. Anyone that thinks it is junk, should have to try to avoid one.
