Have you ever wondered why no one courts the pseudo-"palestinians?" Have you ever wondered why no one invests in Gaza or the West Bank? Think about it some. Israel commands a great deal of clout in the international community. Our information technology is unsurpassed; our medical technology has produced 70 percent of the chemotherapy protocols in use throughout the world; our drought agricultural technology leads the world and is much sought after. Face it, no one is going to invest in a terrorist rabble. Oh, the pseudo-"palestinians" get a great deal of lip service -- especially in Europe, where the Arab and Moslem communities are proving to be quite a problem for their host countries -- but that doesn't quite translate into genuine investment, does it? Trust me -- Israel will annex Judea and Samaria, and they will send the illegal Arab occupiers packing -- and no one is going to a damned thing. I guess they must like Israel's incredible and innovative discoveries in all fields better than they like a bunch of terrorist thieves. You gave it your best, despicable and deplorable shot. But you came up short. Deal with it, and move on with your lives. Someplace other than Israel. Except not even the Europeans want you, do they? Have you ever stopped to wonder why? Think about it. The State of Israel is here to stay. The Jewish people are here to stay. Your depraved ilk? Not so much.
4. europe we can and should say good bye. usa keep
ralph   (04.19.15)
But not exclusive relationship with. Under obama and dems it is moving of center stage. It no longer even wants center stage. We must and should deepen our relationship with China and rest of Asia. Redirect energy and resources to europe.
5. By all means, pursue the trade & cultural ends
Cameron ,   USA   (04.19.15)
But forever play the realist when dealing with the Chinese. They will not go farther In terms of political & military alliance with Israel. The Chinese will never jeopardize their export markets to the Muslim lands, not to mention risking the continued flow of oil and other natural resources. Sorry, kids, but you are joined at the hip to the US. We are your sole ally & patron, and will simply remain so.
6. Israel is hardly putting all its chits on China
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.19.15)
Israel's "tilt" toward Asia preceded that of the US toward the Pacific by several years. But it's not just toward China; Israel isn't stupid. It's also developing closer ties - including military, which isn't possible with China - with India. And even as Japan and South Korea are increasingly doubting the US commitment, they're developing closer ties with Israel across the gamut. As it is, Israel's trade with Asia exceeds that with the US, and will soon top that with the EU. And so far I'm not reading that any Asian country is threatening Israel over how it labels its goods.
7. Door closes another door opens
Benji ,   US   (04.19.15)
The next Republican US president will have to clean-up Obama's mess. Glad Israel is developing other trade avenues. Pity for the US that we have such a self-serving poor excuse for a leader.
8. US is getting more and more isolated
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (04.19.15)
thanks to Obama who snubbed Israel. What goes around comes around
9. USA is a goner, China is the New Kid on the Block, go Bibi!

10. The limits of China
Friendly Neighbour ,   NA   (04.19.15)
China can never replace the U.S. for a very simple reason: AIPAC and the rest of the Israel lobby. People in Israel underestimate by an enormous amount the importance of this lobby over U.S. policy. The generals and the intelligence establishment have spoken out publicy and frequently on the "security price" they pay in the ME on behalf of Israel. The U.S. would still see Israel as an ally, but more like that of a country like Taiwan or the Philippines than like the UK. The reality is that Israel needs America a lot more than America needs Israel. China's now the biggest oil importer in the Middle East and that is only growing. This in turn means that in any serious conflict with the Arab states like in '67 or '73, China wouldn't rush to Israel's defence. It has too many oil interests, unlike America, in the region. If Israel loses the influence of the lobby in the U.S., then there is no replacement, ever. The Israel Lobby is a unique hydra in the world. It cannot be replicated. In many ways I hope China/Israel grow stronger together, because it would be a sign of America's increasing independence in the region and would in many ways make the West a lesser target of Islamic fundamentalism. That's a prize that China can take if it wants to!
11.  Israel Chinese communist party
ky   (04.19.15)
Grand opening branch no 1 coming soon. Offers a much better deal for Israel's workers and peasants than the Obama/ Kerry/ Hillary gang of 3. Better wages, Pensions and full employment. No religion necessary. Comrade Chairman Netanyahu will tell Obama at Ist party congress that his services no longer required.Go play with Cuba
12. N.'s grudge on O. has no limits
N ,   N   (04.19.15)
"...Israel [N.] has decided, despite [BECAUSE OF] the United States' [O.'s] resentment, to prevent a member of the security forces from testifying in a trial taking place in New York against the involvement of a central Chinese bank in funding Islamic terrorist activity..."
13. Ask yourself a REALISTIC question . . .
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (04.19.15)
Why would a country that has a third of the global population, has a longer history that the Jewish tribe, has been a regional leader for most of the last 5000 years and has huge technological resources, care one bit about Israel? China wants only one thing from Israel - strip mine it for intellectual property and then throw away the husk. Where do Israeli writers get these delusional ideas? BTW - does anyone in Israel understand that the AIIB will allow countries to freely trade with Iran and completely avoid the USA sanctions?
14. A buffoon with over bloated ego ,...
split   (04.19.15)
So Mr. Evron what's the great potential you're talking about, what do you have that Chinese don't have already or can't get it somewhere else if they don't?
15. #13 realistic Answer
ky   (04.19.15)
If you know anything about Jewish history there has been quite an input by Jews as advisers to Mao after the 1949 revolution. I know of some US and British Jews who lived in Shanghai and were political advisers to the Chinese government for many years. However the main point of why should the Chinese need an Israeli or Jewish ally in the region is a bit more complex. China whilst being a major trading partner of Iran is still a communist country and most definitely not an Islamic state. Ideologically it is diametrically opposed to Islam and fears its influence within China. Jews also have a strong atheist connection along with Marx who gave birth to "scientific socialism" and rational thought. China is well aware of this and the nature of Jewish flexibility vis a vis Islam as regards religious belief. The Chinese mind is very subtle so the future may find some unexpected twists and turns regarding Chinese connections to Israel and it may not have the sole motive of raping Israel .
16. #10 friendly
solomon ,   bklyn   (04.19.15)
The money given to Israel must be spent in the US, providing jobs in the US. Israel shares improvements it makes to US weapons systems with the US. Israel trains US troops in urban warfare specific to that region and the type of towns and dwellings. You underestimate by an enormous amount the return the US gets on its investment.
17. Israel does not depend on the U.S. to survive and thrive!
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.20.15)
Many forget that the U.S. was NOT a major ally of Israel till after Israel proved her valor in the 1967 Six Days War. Before that, France was Israel's major ally. Israel does not depend on the U.S. to survive and thrive. Israel can form other alliances as need be.
18. Reality check, Chaim
Cameron ,   USA   (04.20.15)
No one on the planet will form any sort of true alliance with Israel. Others will do X amount of business with Israel, but nothing else substantial beyond commerce.
19. #18. Israel is forming new alliances now, Cameron
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.21.15)
#18. Due to the collapse of America, under the Obama regime, major alliance shifts are occurring throughout the world. Israel is forming new alliances right now with nations like China and Taiwan. Unofficial alliances are being formed with Arab states; for whom Iran is a mutual threat. That is the reality. As long as Obama is president, nobody considers America a credible ally.
20. Keep scratchin' around, Chaim
Cameron ,   USA   (04.22.15)
Good luck in this dubious alliance hunt of yours.
