1. Thin end of the wedge
EZEKIAL HAIM ,   LONDON UK   (04.17.15)
This is part of a plot by EU nations to boycott and eventually try to economically starve the settlements.First label their products ,then recommend their citizens not to buy them, then a formal boycott. The answer for Israel to have a long term strategy to divert trade from Europe to Asia and the Americas. When Trade with Europe becomes a very small part of the total Israeli trade then this will become a non issue. If Israel agrees to labeling then the rest of the world will follow as it becomes an accepted policy for the whole world and then would be impossible to reverse. The EU is scheming and surreptitious in a harmful and damaging way.
2. put on yellow star of david with word 'Jude'
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (04.17.15)
If they put on yellow star of david with word 'Jude' on the label in a prominent place, then all the anti-Semites all over could avoid eating Jewish made products.
3. Yeah right .. .

from now on I will look for these goods to purchase. Listen Sarah Maria ... you can stick your Gouda cheese where the sun does'nt shine ! RKDH
4. Cynicism
Michael ,   Haifa   (04.17.15)
Using Holocaust symbols to justify political ends is the height of cynicism. There is no connection between the Nazi identification labels and the designation of the geographical origins of produce from what is perceived as stolen land. Furthermore, until such time that Israel treats its own holocaust survivors with decency, then it is quite indecent to use holocaust symbolism to further political interests.
5. There is a remarkably easy solution
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.17.15)
... to this latest outrageous display of arrogance from a dying continent. Annex Judea and Samaria. Then they will be part of the State of Israel. The world got over the unification of Jerusalem. They got over the annexation of the Golan Heights. They'll get over the annexation of Judea and Samaria -- especially if Israel starts concentrating medical, agricultural and technological industries there. We need to make room for the Jewish people who want affordable housing. We need to make room for the influx of Jews from Europe and other places that is going to happen, and has already started. Hey -- the Arabs started all six major wars; they lost them all. Unless you're prepared to restore East Prussia and the Polish Corridor to Germany; unless you're prepared to restore Alsace and Lorraine to Germany; unless you're prepared to restore the province of Istria to Italy; unless you're prepared to restore the island of Okinawa to the Japanese -- then the rules which govern the conduct of warfare and the outcome which befalls the losing aggressor -- this is the only way to proceed. Let's start with Poland, shall we? Judea and Samaria belong to the Jewish people, going back three thousand years. Intermittent illegal occupiers notwithstanding. Are you prepared to restore the subcontinent (India) to the British? No, didn't think so. Then Israel -- including Judea and Samaria -- belongs to the Jews. The Arabs will have to find someplace else to live. They have twenty-three states to choose from, plus Gaza. Judea and Samaria are not an option. Sorry, but there are consequences to starting wars of aggression -- and losing. The Arabs in Judea and Samaria are not somehow magically exempt from those consequences. It's over. They have to go.
6. To: FB Sarah Maria Johanna Lith
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.17.15)
Tell you what, chica. Why don't you cry me a river when the sovereign State of Israel annexes Judea and Samaria and sends its illegal Arab occupiers to Gaza? Can you do that? Don't see as you'll have another choice. Am Israel Chai, baby. AM ISRAEL CHAI. The "palestinians?" Not so much. CRY ME A RIVER.
7. Huk on Facebook
Eaglebeak ,   Let Coast, USA   (04.17.15)
The West Bank (Judea and Samaria) belonged to Israel and was taken away from them by Jordan in 1948. Jordan occupied it until Israel won it back in 1967.
8. To Herbert Markus
Daniel   (04.17.15)
Herbert, the majority in Northern Ireland, The Basque Country, Falkland Islands and EVERY example you mention actually wants to belong to the state you claim is "ooccupying" them, and are citizens of that country. Controlling a territory by giving all its people equal right and in line with their wishes is called democracy. Controlling a territory by denying most of its people equal rights and against their wishes is called occupation. The difference is rather evident to most people, I think.
9. COMPLAINING NOW ???
FO ,   Belgium   (04.17.15)
Complaining now, Itamar Eichner? Isn't it official Israel itself that hammered in the ears of the whole world the notions of "occupied territories", "settlements", etc...? Isn't it official Israel that obstinately, till this very day, refused to assert Jewish-Israeli rights, valid to this day in International Law on the territory between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, including the Golan Heights? What rights? Well, the rights reaffirmed by Article 80 of the United Nations Charter and even by UNSC Resolution 242, based upon the Mandate for Palestine voted and decided by all the 51 members of the League of Nations, the only valid recognition of Israel borders in International Law!!!
10. Pushed by Didier Reynders from Belgium?
tiki ,   belgium   (04.17.15)
Belgium? There is no country like that. There is Flandria, Wallonia and a German part. This 3 State Nation needs 4 governments to govern and 3 languages to live in peace. While hating each other they don't threaten to kill each other although they do boycott each other somewhat when possible. Thanks to the language barrier every part of this entity knows it's place. which keeps the peace. So "Belgium" telling Israel how to behave is a bit rich.

13. Simple solution ... and don't wait for Alexander
Jacob Edelman ,   New York,USA   (04.17.15)
There is a simple solution: Israel get out of Palestinian lands, help create a state called Palestine and do not wait for Alexander ... to cut the Gordian knot!

15. Nonsense
Dan   (04.17.15)
I'm an Israeli Jew. Liberman is just trying to portray criticism of Israel as anti-semitism, a widely discredited tactic that only adds to anti-Israeli feeling. A stupid comment from a stupid man.
16. Laughable
David ,   USA   (04.17.15)
Only an Israeli could turn labelling products from widely-condemned, illegal settlements on disputed land into a "Holocaust" analogy. Economic pressure has been a long used means to cause a state actor to change its behavior. Here, the behavior that Israel needs to change is its settlement construction on lands in dispute until the dispute is resolved. Agree to the borders and then Israel can build all it wants. This doesnt harm peace--the only thing it harms is the illegal land grab that Israel engages in at the expense of Palestinian widely-recognized national aspirations and right to an independent state on their native lands.
17. False hope
DOV ,   USA   (04.17.15)
I get the impression that the counties who signed on to this letter think that all problems will go away in the middle east if Israel gives up. All bloodshed will immediately stop. Everyone will just love one another. The green line does not exist and never will. They cannot rewrite history. This is nothing less than harassment to our entire great nation. Israel.
18. Mark EVERYTHING as "Made in Judea and Israel"
leo ,   usa   (04.17.15)
19. Omitted critical information
Jerusalem   (04.17.15)
To make this case clearer, information on land and valuables lost by Jews in Arab countries needs to be made available. That will substantiate the verdict on the way things are to be on the land of Eretz Israel. Why isn't this information being furnished? Aside from Arab countries offering compensation to Jewish for this the details need to be revealed. And by the way, if there were Jews in Iraq and Syria today, their fate with radical Islam may not have fared well. Another good reason they are in Israel. The Holy Bible, which encompasses the Judeo-Christian concept, and the Muslim Holy Quran has information as to what and how the arrangement is to be. Refugees is another problem that can be cleared up. How many more refugees can Europe handle? Italy is already asking the UN to address this issue with the countries the refugees are leaving. People are going to have to get serious.
20. What a sham!
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (04.17.15)
From the Palestinian perspective All it does is serve to fracture an already fractured relationship with Israel we are trying to rebuild If their concern is for Palestinian welfare why not spend the time and effort to help establish Palestinian enterprise instead of destroying job existing opportunities with Israeli companies by punishing them and even putting them out of business. And this at a time when Palestinians more Palestinians than ever are pressing for the ability to work inside Israel to recover the THOUSANDS of jobs lost at the start of the Intifada But as Palestinians employed by Israeli Companies in the West Bank are saying..if the EU insist on labelling West Bank the Israeli companies should also state in the label the numbers of Palestinians employed Its not a case of the EU shooting themselves in the foot Its a case of the EU shooting Palestinians in the foot These are the people who on the one hand advocate 'technical recognition' of Hamas and the other destroy job opportunities for Palestinians How helpful?

22. #5 Sarah B. Try to see the bigger picture (for once)
Mark B. ,   Amsterdam / Holland   (04.17.15)
The Arabs of the Westbank are exempt from the consequences of losing wars, when it comes to annexation of conquered lands. Not by magic but by International Law, which defines the new world order that came into place after WWII. It recognizes the past annexations you mention, it forbids present and future annexation of conquered lands. There can be no exception from that because the world order will collapse then. It has actually nothing to do with Jews and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians. It simply is the cement the world order is build with now and the whole world will be in chaos as soon as that collapses. The genius will be out of the bottle, so to speak. So the consequences of annexing the Westbank go far beyond this local conflict in the ME, try to grasp that. It will enhance your thinking and you will understand that there will be no recognition under no circumstances by anyone (including the US) of so-called 'Judea and Samaria". BTW: Europe is not dying, it is getting reborn. That is the great underlying fear of all you Europe-haters, we know that very well.
23. #1 - What does Israel have to sell to Asia?
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (04.18.15)
HINT: Nothing that Asians can't get from someplace else for a lot less. There are MULTIPLE problems that Israel faces in Asia (1) Asians like to buy from Asians. Even the Australians have had to re-brand themselves as Asian to improve their trade. (2) other than a few small volume products, nothing Israel produces is unique and Asians can either make the products themselves or find other, cheaper sources (which they are already buying from). Israeli keep saying Asia will be their savior, but based on the experiences of US business that though that the Asian market would be their savior, but turned out to not be, I think Israelis are being delusional. Neither Asia nor the USA are viable alternative markets for Israel.
