1. the left turn to J Street
richard sherwin ,   herzliyah israel   (04.17.15)
Thanks and good luck. They wont listen, im not sure their idolatries have ears that could hear. theyre so committed to self righteousness they leave sympathizers in the center with nowhere to go but right... as much as i admire obama's domestic action re national health, i think he's somehow gotten himself and his administration into a self humiliating situation...and his j street supports arent the ones to help him out of it. come to think of it, i dont know who could, or how it might be done, for all it'd be well worth the trying. keep up the good work, and again thanks.
2. An inaccurate picture--CORRECTED
Yonatan ,   Baltimore, USA   (04.17.15)
Mr. Yemini's description of the tone of the J Street conference is woefully inaccurate. The overall tenor was a deep love for Israel--why else would over 3000 Jews, including over 100 rabbis like myself, travel there from around the country?--coupled with a conviction that the government led by Netanyahu is endangering its future. Since when is that unpatriotic or outside the Jewish/Israeli mainstream? I imagine that the assembly was an American reflection of the Zionist Union, Meretz or even Yesh Atid. If there were any "radicals," I didn't see them. And what's the problem with hearing from Saeb Erekat? Didn't Yitzhak Rabin z"l, talk and even shake hands with Yasser Arafat? As it is said: You make peace with your enemies. For this one American rabbi and Labor Zionist, I came away from J Street feeling heartened by the sense of deep love and concern for the State of Israel and the future of it and the Jewish people itself.
3. The Left is ZU + Meretz, not Yesh Atid
Jake   (04.17.15)
Yesh Atid is centrist and rejects the "left wing" label. It refused to offer any coalition commitments to Herzog/Livni before the election, and refused to endorse Herzog for PM after the election. Just the facts.
4. The Ministry of Truth
Michael ,   Haifa   (04.18.15)
When the right wing politicians will soon establish the Orwellean Ministry, Yemini will be the ideal candidate to be its Director-General.
5. What do these sick alliances say about Israeli left?
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.17.15)
The author is right, of course. Forming sick alliances with J Street, BDSers, Israel hating extremists, Obama etc. is not a sane course of action. The scary thing is that Israeli leftists have to be told this. What do these sick alliances say about the Israeli left?
6. they're not trying to combat the right
steve from raleigh   (04.17.15)
they're fighting against Israel, against Jews.
7. israeli left lost its reason long ago
paratrooper   (04.17.15)
like a compulsive gambler in a casino , the israeli left can only keep going in hope of a change in luck. since the early 1980's , the israeli left tied its future to a peace agreement with a side that ultimately does not want peace . in the process, it has lost its popularity ,credibility , and its very ability to see reality. the fathers of the israeli left would probably not recognize it
8. today's left is internationalist
C   (04.17.15)
obama is the first american president who is an internatonalist with strong sympathies for revolutionary and tiers mondist movements.
9. One has to combat the Israeli Lunatic Left, not Right!
(04.17.15)
10. Apartheid
Art ,   Canada   (04.18.15)
I never buy anything made in Isreal.World boycott is not far off.
11. An appeaser feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last
That's all there is   (04.19.15)
An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.
12. listen to Saeb Arekt
AvnerA ,   uk   (04.20.15)
like the J Street he declares that all he wants is peace and love, but it was he who initiated (on CNN) that he himself saw a masacre in Jenin, and it was he who told the world that no less than 500 were massacred there. Carry on asking "why not listen to Saeb Arekat" and many others like him because of some Gaulish self hatred probably originating from fear is really necessrily leads to wrong conclusions.
13. wakeup call
shaul melloul ,   boston   (04.21.15)
the left in Israel is anti anything that is good for Israel . if they do not stop blaming the majority of the voters in the election they are never going to win the election . so the left should open their eyes and wakeup .
