Every step forward in Israeli- Palestinian relations goes back in multiples, when random murder like this occurs. It reminds me of the stab-in-the back attacks in pre-Israel days like Hebron, Sfad or Jerusalem in the 1920's...what was the excuse then? It's a viscous cycle too many Arabs can't escape, accept or repair. The worst examples today are in Syria and Iraq. Israel is intermittent...except when a limited war erupts, of the Arabs choosing and it always ends badly. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over with same results.
