Israel is now more in the foreground. It has been effective in the background and in low key lobbies to facilitate global acceptance but now is determined to take center stage in issues directly relating to its very existence. No longer will it play second fiddle to any player. International states must accept Israel as a legitimate and EQUAL partner to benefit from its superior position in many fields. Those who want to take advantage of such benefits must acknowledge and give credit to the latters' origin. NEVER AGAIN!

What France and the EU don't get is that Palestinians want to be given a state without having to accept a Jewish one. The issue is avoided and that's why nothing ever happens. The focus is always on giving Palestinians a state so the whole peace issue just goes in circles.

Whats the purpose of a draft resolution? Actually, I believe we already know the answer to that. Remember after the 1956 war, victorious Israel withdrew from the Sinai based upon lavish United Nations promises that it would maintain peacekeeping forces in the Sinai -- forever. Well, forever came to an end when Gamel Abdel Nasser -- may his name be cursed throughout eternity -- demanded that the United Nations withdraw its peacekeeping forces, and Secretary General U Thant promptly complied. We have also seen how remarkably ineffective United Nations "peacekeeping forces" were in Lebanon, where they actually aided and abetted Hezbollah to re-arm. No one with a modicum of common sense believes the United Nations. That would include the State of Israel.

Just the lives of the Israeli Jews these Gentile nations wanted to destroy not that long ago. How about for every nation wanting to dictate to Israel, they put one billion dollars in the pot and be prepared to lose it to Israel when they lose these publicity battles doomed to failure? Even the Vatican City is not an international state, but an independent eclessiastic state ruled by clerics or popes...and recognized internationaly. Cest la meme chose you said? i dont think so...
