Glenn ,   Jerusalem   (04.27.15)
The sad thing is if it wasn't caught on tape how responsive would the Israel Police to condemn the attack and launch and investigation?
2. Police Investigations Department
Michael ,   Haifa   (04.27.15)
Probabiity is that the matter will be shelved, for it is not in the public interest (that the police be publicly criticised)
3. Many such incidents here in America as well
BUILD BABY BUILD!!!   (04.27.15)
I've noticed an uptick in police violence towards blacks. Thank G-d for the evidence of the film that brings focus to this abuse of power some bad apples make a necessity of removing them after they've been formally charged with the indictment that never should have been. I truly hope the young IDF soldier will be fine despite this horrific act of terror. It is never okay to harm any one unless provoked with a weapon.
4. Israel's Police Out of Control!
InetFraud ,   U.S./IL   (04.27.15)
These morons are the most incompetent fools I've ever seen as police. What a shame and embarrassment! Our 'politicians' don't give a damn either- they stand by and do NOTHING! Idiotic! So much for 'Democrazy'.
5. police brutality
(04.27.15)
these police should be thrown in jail they are a disgrace to their uniform , their country and humanity.
6. Unbelievable
Lawrence Ben Attar ,   Valletta Malta   (04.27.15)
The police officer should be suspended and thrown in jail, whatever happened he should never have assaulted the IDF soldier. This is police brutality at it's worst. Shame on the two officers. Shame!
7. There are allways
arne ,   chicago usa   (04.27.15)
two sides to every story--what's the other side?
8. israel police consistently brutal
david ,   new york   (04.27.15)
i remember a few years ago, 2 cops in israel were caught on video holding down a settler and ripping off his nose. when it go t to court (only because of the video, otherwise nothing would have happened) the policemen defended themselves by saying that they had NO IDEA that they werent supposed to do that. in the end they got a slap on the wrist. similarly, a police chief who told his officers to beat up settlers and "break bones" without asking questions, did manage to get transfered to another post (so he can do that somewhere else). israeli police are notoriously brutal and corrupt.
9. Hard to watch this video.
JVC ,   LA, USA   (04.27.15)
Soldiers need to be putting the beat down on the police. Must've been a jobnik.
10. Israel Police Dept.
Mark ,   k.yam,Israel   (04.27.15)
Day after day we see the disgracefull actions of so many that its easy to foget the good things that the police do here. But it is unbelievable how much our police over use and abuse their athority and our citizenes
11. Israeli police = THUGS looking for a fight
Haim   (04.27.15)
Danino should have been fired years ago. The brutality mentality starts at the top.
12. #10 ISRAELI POLICE
TEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED HONESTY   (04.27.15)
The police here do not do good things ,in my experience they are brutal and primitive apes.
13. Arne at nr 7...my thoughts too...
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (04.28.15)
In the early stages of the video, the soldier is clearly taking something from his pocket and putting it in his mouth...in view of the cops. The policeman lunges at his throat to prevent the soldier from swallowing whatever it was. They didn't need to hit him to retrieve the suspected contraband...they could remand him at wait...
14. ah ha
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.28.15)
What we are not told in this article is that the soldier is an Ethiopian orphan! The 2 police thugs deserve to be thrown out of the police force & thrown into jail. Disgusting behaviour.
15. We are not alone...
rom ,   Israel   (04.28.15)
A very similar situation is happening right now in Baltimore, Maryland. Doesn't seem to have been reported in YNetNews but the story is all over the international press.
16. To my regret, the police in general
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.28.15)
do use physical force too often and when not necessary. Yes, it does start at the top. Without the covert approval of the upper echelons this would not occur.

Seems to me, Mark, that the soldier's phone is ringing in his pocket. He takes it out & you can clearly see him placing his mobile on his ear! he does'nt put anything in his mouth. The two policemen are at fault here, not the soldier.
