I always enjoyed stopping by Tamar while in Tel Aviv--Sara was always hospitable--and the place was totally unpretentious--with friendly clientele.

No matter what your opinions are cafes like these add character, life and interest to a city. I hope someone takes up the baton and starts another one. I know you cant use the same theme but a place that is known as a cafe for artists and politicos is always a good bet. . You will find there are many cafes in cities in the world that have the same sort of ethos, frequented by Jewish emigres from the war and gradually they have all closed down as they died off. For anyone who has ever visited them the were absolutely marvelous places . When they go all you are left with are boring shops, and pricy and vacuous eateries
