1. billions of shekel to form government
tomer ,   jerusalem   (05.01.15)
There is one person in the puzzle left who can stop this "sell-out" and can stop the reversing of all achievements of the livni, lapid etc. This man is Avigdor lieberman. I call upon him NOT to join this government and to stand by his basic principles. Tis will get him back to be respected and to get voters back.
2. Netanyahu promises billions
Iletzter ,   TA   (05.01.15)
All this is true. However if Buzi were to be elected he would have increased the donations to the haredi parties to double. The haredi parties always earned more with the left and it was always easier to cut a deal with Labor than with Likud. So, what is the big fuss ? At least , the haredi sector doesn't require funding and budgets for drug rehabilitaion , protection from prostitutes, organized crime, protection from assault and battery in the schools and ball games , and many other vices that is rampant in the secular section.
3. I will agree to lowering of cost of basuc food if
(05.01.15)
it would not start the war like Rabin did, do not bring 3000 dead Jews like Rabin did. Better they eat than be dead.
4. These Haredi ministers are brilliant and so is Netanyahu.
Moshe   (05.01.15)
They got whatever they wanted and whatever is needed for orthodox Jews. Kol Hakavod to Deri, Litzman and Gafni. Netanyahu did a smart step.
5. "Netanyahu promises billions"
Jake ,   Israel   (05.01.15)
Of course, Yitzchak Herzog wouldn't have, right?
6. Is this a cost too far?
Tim ,   Brighton   (05.01.15)
Every element of Israel Society is worthy of a piece of the cake But not sure this a fair and equitable distribution Take for example South Israel To grow and develop Industry, Academia, Agriculture and Tourism further and attract more inward investment we need better Road Connectivity, Beersheba and Ashdod Metro, Fast Trans N-S Rail, Beersheba International Airport. Affordable Homes and especially improved Business Tax Incentives and Grants We could do with a bigger slice of the cake too...
7. A Modest Proposal
Joe ,   Israel   (05.01.15)
A change in the Basic Law would save a lot of money, shorten the time allotted to the PM to form a new government, and eliminate the disgraceful spectacle described in this article. The current law mandates that ministers must be appointed from current members of the Knesset. This law limits public service to a rather small pool of talented and capable people. The political parties decide who their ministers will be represented in the cabinet rather than a search for real talent.
8. Millions to NOT teach useful subjects??
David ,   Hartford USA   (05.01.15)
Is it really wise for long term prosperity to NOT teach math, science, English, modern Hebrew to so many children? Aren't you just perpetuating a welfare class of people that will never be able to get good jobs, never be able to provide for a family, and never help the Israeli economy? No country can survive with a class of citizens that are unable to better themselves. Obama has created a welfare state in the USA and our national debt is too big to ever be paid off. If China sold all the US debt it owns, the USA would collapse overnight. He is trying his hardest to allow millions of illegal aliens to become residents so that they can vote for the democratic machine that throws welfare benefits at them. This taxes the working class so much that they can never get ahead. Only the rich make out. This is already happening in Israel and you should try to stop it while you can. Stealing from one group of citizens to allow another group to slack off will never make a country strong.
9. How much to Hamas?
Avi L.   (05.01.15)
Children, old people, Shoa survivors, public health, education, David Sling, armored parsonel carrier (not aluminium boxes) all need money... and Bibi is squandering bilions for the talebans who stone soldiers? How much to the Islamic Movement and Hamas?
10. Number 2
Mike ,   Tel Aviv   (05.01.15)
Protection from prostitutes? Are you completely mad? What harm did prostitutes ever do to you, you silly little man?
11. This is obscene
Mike ,   Tel Aviv   (05.01.15)
This barrel of concessions and financial gifts to a sector of society which contributes little or nothing to the economy and all this on the backs of hard working and army serving people is quite simply OBSCENE. This extortion and stealing from the public purse for activities which don't yield any return to society is simply OBSCENE. Netanyahu is completely to blame for these obscenities. If he had got a grip on his megalomanical personality and inflated flatulent ego he could have made a sensible progressive coalition with Hezog, Kahlon and Lapid and he could have prevented this scandalous abuse of taxpayers' money.
12. David, in a Jewish country, Torah & Gemara
Moshe   (05.01.15)
are the most important subjects. It's a shame on the non-religious schools in the Jewish country for not teach these subjects. By the way, in the US Haredi boys who are not taught science, history, arts, Shakespeare and other stupidities, manage quite well in business. And Haredi working men who went to these yeshivos are also managing quite well. So what's your problem?
13. David in a Jewish country.....
(05.01.15)
You're right Moshe they look successful but those uneducated ones live off their parent's success...They wouldnt know how to make a living...one good idea they have is to get a shidach with a girl of a rich family....of course that all comes from not being educated - after all who needs it - right?!
