1. "...an axe to splinter democracy":
Scharp ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (05.06.15)
Eitan Haber - a talented, serious guy - paints a bleak picture and future. I wanted to ask: so what is the alternative? But Haber says: "It's possible that there is no better method than the primary elections in our democracy, but it's the primary elections which brought us to the current situation. Personally, I know many people who don't regret it – but why should the State of Israel pay the price?" Good question. And now we have to prepare for a Bibi-61 (?) government. Let them try, and let Haber write more articles, until the next war and the next elections.
2. Netanyahu is not Begin, Sharon, Rabin, nor Chamberlain
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.06.15)
Netanyahu is a Churchillian like leader.
3. but no israeli journalist
Sue   (05.06.15)
writes Benjamin Netanyahu speeches, and thats great
4. 61 members for a strong Israel will work better than 68
Chaim   (05.06.15)
members of the previous short-term government which included members of Ultra Leftists and fanatical religious Jews haters.
5. The left thinks everyone else is stupid?
Shep ,   Memphis   (05.06.15)
The arrogance of this writer to think that Israelis are so dumb is a slap in the face to everyone reading this sophomoric article. Name recognition cuts both ways....it can hurt you and it can help you. But Herzog and Livni had name recognition and they lost....cause people knew what they stood for....or better yet...what they did NOT stand for.
6. Daniel Ben Hillel
Sue   (05.06.15)
E. Haber wrote speeches for Rabin but thats not the reason Netanyahu is 300% excellent lol ;-) love it
7. Netanyahu is
Jake ,   Jerusalem   (05.06.15)
Netanyahu is not Begin who gave away the Sinai. He is not Sharon who gave away Gaza and in doing so gave Hamas a free hand to build a terror state. He is definitely not Rabin who used hatred to lower his popularity rating and pit Jew against Jew and make a stupid agreement with Arafat that we suffer with daily. Netanyahu is intelligent enough to know not to deal with terrorists, intelligent enough to know how to deal with America, is intelligent enough to know how to pull a deal together with stupid Jews who can't seem to get along even for their own good, I think Netanyahu is better for Israel than all of the negative Op-eds from Ynet pasted end to end.
8. good article. BB is a top liar, demagogue - thereby having..
Rafi ,   US   (05.07.15)
... all the qualifications of a real "politician" in the negative sense. That he stays in power so long speaks to ability to tack & weave so well among so many other scheming politicians. Does this make him a good leader for Israel? No.
9. They're all the same...
Ari ,   USA   (05.07.15)
God and religion are the same as politicians and ideology. Mr Heber seems to be more anti-Netanyahu than other thing. I would also liked to see a more center-like coalition. But the question is, why didn't they joint the new majority? The answer is that all are the same kind of crap. Trying to take advantage and gambling on a fast government falling. The smartest crap defeated all other mediocre craps. If last Debka assessment is true, If the US crap in chief approve a Palestinian state as a revenge to the newly form rightist gov. Then only then Mr Heber you'll prove that your ideology is right, I only hope that we can have a smart piece of crap to deal with the situation, because actually they are all mediocre.
10. History proves Bibi is much smarter than his leftist critics
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.07.15)
With a few cosmetic changes, this article could easily have been written six years ago. How long have Bibi's critics, like the author, been claiming Bibi is near the end? Meanwhile, time goes by. Bibi's foes fail time and time again. And Israel is INFINITELY better off under Bibi's leadership than theirs. History proves Bibi is much smarter than his leftist critics.
11. Hater is no Netanyahu either
Robert ,   NewJersey, USA   (05.07.15)
12. To Jack Levi...
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (05.07.15)
It is so simple...Your post is nothing, but wishful thinking ...There are many facts to be stated about your lame typical bashing of Israel...And unless you can come up with hard facts, defending your opinion, everything else is plain "palavra".. Pertaining "tricks", you may be right, because during all of Netanyahu's three terms, the Jewish State was fiercely protected, defended, grew an amazing economy, scientific discoveries (one of the best in the world) and consistently supplies the Gaza authority with all & every of their needs...Do you know any other country in the world, that does it to their enemies..?
