1. There goes any semblance of democracy
Isaac D ,   Rehovot Israel   (05.06.15)
Ayelet Shaked had come out publicly against the Supreme Court - and now she's going to be Justice Minister? This woman understands NOTHING about the basics of democracy. Deri - a convicted thief in charge of Industry and Commerce, Litzman, an avowed anti zionist in charge of the Health ministry, and the list goes on. Hoping for a quick end to this farce of a government.
2. Excellent choice!

Laugh Laugh Laugh to the greatest comedy show on earth.
5. democracy
peter ,   tel aviv   (05.06.15)
is based on the three branches.once we let the legislative and executive curb the power of the high court we are moving towards dictatorship. there must be the rule of law or we hand our country to people who use a vocabulary of goebbels. with all respect to ayelet shaked the justice portfolio should be handled by a person with a background in law. and what is this talk of a national camp? neither UTJ nor SHAS really believe in the state apart from emptying its coffers
6. Justice Minister !!!!!
Having fun   (05.06.15)
Wouah... Saraleh, beware. I think that both of you have some have some little "problems" to settle.
7. Sad!
(05.06.15)
Prime Minister Mr. Netanyahu now has a worse government than he did BEFORE the elections. This just goes to show that he will do anything to stay in the crumbling House on Balfour Street. That house is a metaphor for the crumbling State of Israel! We don't need the Arabs to do it to us we will do it to ourselves. Now let's all sit back and watch Bennett carry out his Coup E'tat!
8. bennett should not comprmise
geroge   (05.06.15)
either shaked gets full powers as justice minister, or bennett shouldgo to opposition. While herzog and livni were security failures from top to bottom, bibi is fearful of even telling lapid and livni -you are fired. Something is wrong with him-hes no war hero as a hero cannot be so bloody fearful.
9. If Bibi was smart he'd replace greedy Bennett with Herzog
Greedy & not Fargin ,   describes Bennett   (05.06.15)
Greedy is mildly said. This guy wants everything, everything, everything and now he even got justice ministry and wouldn't fargin Bibi a larger coalition with Zionist Union.
10. Coalition agreement
leon rosen ,   Israel   (05.06.15)
This is not a good government for Israel. The religious domination will destroy the balance in the country particularly in the finance, religious and Justice sectors. Joining with Herzog would be even worse. What a mess !!
11. Control Bennet by promoting Shaked
DemocracyRules ,   Canada   (05.06.15)
Reducing the powers of Ayelet Shaked seems to be an effort to limit the ambitions of Bennet. Bibi may consider him a rival as prime minister. But if Bibi gives full powers to Ayelet Shaked, then she will overshadow Bennet! And if she eventually becomes a prime minister contender, so be it. She is no further right than Begin was.
12. An engineer becomes Justice Minister??
Naomi   (05.06.15)
This government has gone crazy. Bennett & Shaked are hungry for power.

in a democracy, the jurisdiction of the highest court is limited. since the judges are appointed, not elected, their powers must be limited. in israel, the selection process for new members of the high court is grossly undemocratic since members of the court are part of the selection committee, as is the bar association. this system must be changed to allow representatives of the people to have an important say in the selection process. the prime minister, with the speaker and the president should select the candidates who would then be voted on by the entire knesset. the jurisdiction of the high court should be curtailed according to the procedures set in place for changing the basic law. the above are just suggestions. however, the practice of the high court to act as a legislative body must be stopped. for example, the high court can decide which party ownes any given property, but it should not decide the route of the separation fence since that is a political question, and a domain of the executive and of the legislative branches.
14. 10 the government for israel
C   (05.06.15)
you need to understand that this government, if it gets formed, is similar to an emergency government. the government will be tasked essentially with preparing for war and for the diplomatic war that will be waged against the jewish state of israel.

i consider that the israel's high court is out of control. it has grabbed powers that belong to the executive and the legislative. its members are selected undemocratically. in a democracy, the powers of the highest court must be limited. otherwise, the court becomes the emperor of the land. the left likes the situation as it stands since the high court is permanently leftist as a result of the selection process.
