1. Most Germans became Nazis
Zechariah   (05.13.15)
The Deutsch Peoplle always were as a mass Violently anti -Semitic .After the Holocaust some quite a proportion felt guilt that the Nazis had acted in a horrific way .Stalin was more cunning .He was also antiJewish but thoughttheywere would be useful for a generation or two.As forEuropein General the Dutch Police were very disgraceful reassuring Jews to go to deportation that they would be protected and have jobs -yet knowing they would be Genocided.Butits also a general flaw in human nature tribalism the mob envy and capacity for genocide .In this the Genocide Prevention Activists are to be Lauded.

4. German past
Jerry ,   Netherlands   (05.13.15)
your comment is entirely correct. However in the 1950s Israel suffered from a severe economic crisis, by the socialist system and the great amount of mostly very poor immigrants. So Ben Gurion was obliged to accept the German assistance - Wiedergutmachung - even though a large part of the Israeli public was strongly against, like Menachem Begin.
5. Yes, many Germans still hate Jews...
Koose E Mack ,   NY US   (05.13.15)
Unfortunately, most of the world has participated in some type of physical Anti Semitic acts. Let's face it, we are hated by many people for idiotic reasons.
6. Germany
Gene Graczyk ,   Santa Rosa CA USA   (05.14.15)
Germany has acknowledged its crimes against humanity and not denied them. it has paid huge reparations critical to israel's development as a nation. Israel would do much better to admit its own war crimes and unjust treatment of minorities. Perhaps the ethiopians can explain it to you...
7. Young German perspective
Markus ,   Regensburg Germany   (05.15.15)
By chance I just saw Mr Klieger in German TV - such a great person looking very fit and with a clear thinking! I wish he became very popular in Germany to give us advise. Sometimes we don't quite ralize that the Nazis were voted in by many of our forefathers, so it was a good reminder when he said it was "the Germans" (although we Germans today don't feel connected to them). I think the new Germany indeed started in the 1970ies, but still most politicians like Adenauer were opposed to the nationalsocialists. The crimes are not forgotten. Today we don't want to be a friend for supplying weapons, but we ant to be real friends, welcoming each other. What shall we do with regards to Israeli-neighbour relations? We wish them to live in peace and harmony! People here are critical of Israel's government due to its right-wing policies...
8. relations with Germany
nolan ,   Hashmonaim   (05.18.15)
It would be normal to establish relations with Germany in 500 years time if people would not be against such a thing. The fact that we have relations now shows that we lack respect for our people and our dead
