1. Unity government Looming
Zechariah   (05.12.15)
In Israel the Basics are Security and the Socioeconomic gap .Excess Expansionism is no good . A Palestinian Autonomy is already in 50% of the West Bank and 3000square Kilometres of Islamic Israel but the Jews have to stringently verify breaches of Security . Syria Iraq Yemen and Afghanistan are War Lord Gang Warfare Lands not States .Anarchaic Death Cult Ideologies .
2. really?!
Michael   (05.12.15)
It is the system, its not bibi. The system does not allow new and young and confident leaders to emerge. Both Likud and Labor liked the system. But probability has a tendency to rear its head. It was probable that a government like this would eventually be formed. So the MKs should deal with the reality. Enough about Bibi. Just because Labor is in the opposition does not mean they do not have to propose laws that are for the benefit of the people. Is it possible for the left to start or end a sentence without bibi being mentioned. So far not, that points to hysteria. when people are hysterical no system can function.
3. It is not Netanyahu, but Herzog
Moshe ,   Israel   (05.12.15)
After the election, the chairman of the Zionist Union declared several times that he would not join the nascent coalition. And how the author knows that the Prime Minister have not called Herzog after the election results published ? He may have done it, and was turned down.
4. Mr Weizman you are in for a surprice
Nachman   (05.12.15)
This gov't might be the most stable Gov't. Stop being sore losers. the country as a whole is sick and tired of the left ideology particular with your peace treaties Oslo disengagements etc... which resulted in countless of casualties to the Israeli public. We get one more bonus the Judiciary might begin to be balanced. I this happens Bayiy Hayehudi will jump in the polls as well as Likud.
5. correction: we israelis pay for Bibi's ways; its on our back
(05.12.15)
6. why blame Bibi
Prince ,   Accra Ghana   (05.12.15)
why should one blame Bibi when Herzog refused to join unity government,?
8. When will Leftists losers stop whining and seething?
Dan   (05.12.15)
Netanyahu did very smart for leaving the anti-Zionists out of the government. He had enough trouble with the radical Leftists for 2 years.
9. It's time to attend to business
Yardena   (05.13.15)
I understand like everybody else that the Left Lost. It seems the Israeli public voted for conservative Govt. learned from its mistakes from the past by being under a Lefty Liberal thought. Dr Chaim Weizmann is the camp of the liberal left as most in Tel AViv University who seem to be disatisfied with the Israelis' choices. Endless nit picking on Netanyahu or his wife just shows how immature th Left is and that includes Herzog which you keep pushing on to the utmost of absurdity. Maspik - move on your sour grapes are wilting
10. It's not the government system, it's Netnyahu
Michail ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.13.15)
Absolutely wrong! It's the system!. It ought to be based on direct elections for local or regional representatives. The current system does not foster unity of the nation but the "balkanization" of the country with potentially disastrous consequences, when the external security threats will no longer be credible in diverting peoples' attention.
11. Typically of a die -hard Leftist, Mr.Weitzmann does not care
(05.13.15)
if his diatribes are ridiculously false as long as they may serve the goal of grabbing the power from the sane Israeli majority. This article is toe-cringing .
12. to moshe
Sue   (05.13.15)
"And how the author knows that the Prime Minister have not called Herzog after the election results published ?" .ahhhh...you are soooo cute with such questions. Because he is a journalist lol
13. to Michael
Sue   (05.13.15)
"The system does not allow new and young and confident leaders to emerge. Both Likud and Labor liked the system" - yeah darling, probably is the government system, unless you really dont have to "emerge" as a leader lol ps: of good sense of humor is always welcome
14. # 12 journalist
Moshe ,   Israel   (05.13.15)
Your talkback denotes either that Prime Minister's telephone is under supervision of the media, and he cannot perform any confidential conversation, or his aides are not trustworthy. Such serious allegations require proof. By the way, Dr. Weizmann is not a journalist.
15. It's not the political system,, it's Netanyahu
David Shaw ,   JERUSALEM   (05.14.15)
Come on, Dr Weizmann. If Herzog had joined a Netanyahu coalition, I would have regretted my vote for him. Herzog by winning 24 seats has raised all our hopes for a better future. And look at the tactics to which Netanyahu resorted to boost his result when he was level heading with Herzog. The system is a disaster but Herzog must stick to his guns.
16. Israeli voters decimated the left for a reason
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.14.15)
Before the election, Herzog and Livni boasted they would form a government without Bibi. Israeli voters decimated the left for a reason. The obvious reason is that voters didn't want Labor in the government. Labor has done nothing but harm Israel, with its lunatic, death wish policies, decade after decade.
17. #14 Moshe
Adler J ,   ISRAEL   (05.14.15)
it seems you doesnt care if he is or not a journalist, Were you invited by Queen Elizabeth to attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show? never mind....
