Of the West Bank is developing and in time some Gazans Hamas Voters will go to those areas so the Federation will be Prone to firing Rockets and Terrorattacks . 2. Israel getting a taste of its own medicine
Non Jewish Immigrant ,   haifa   (05.13.15)
israel's policy was to toughen its stance toward Gaza when the Palestinians democratically voted Hamas in. Now Europe is just doing what Israel did in 2006. G. Moscatelli
3. European leaders call for campaign of pressure on Netanyahu
Michail ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.13.15)
The letter realistically notes the fact of "Palestinian disunity" as a reason for the failure of negotiations. What its authors fail to realize is that this situation on the part of the Palestinians well predates the arrival of Mr. Netanyahu in the Prime Minister's office. The writers cavalierly overlook the complexities associated with the Palestinian disunity as the core of the gridlock as it is significantly more difficult than that word would imply. The Palestinians had any number of offers that they for internal "disunity" reasons eventually ignored or walked away from. Why should any Israeli Prime Minister, especially this one, continue to adhere to such a strategy as the "two state solution" in the absence of a negotiating partner that is unable or unwilling for "disunity" reasons to conclude an agreement that would be fair bilaterally? The first order of priority before any negotiation can resume with any, any modicum of possible success, is for the Palestinian leadership to overcome their internal "disunity".
4. Tell them all to go jump!!!
Devorah   (05.13.15)
they have enough worries of their own and should stay out of our business
5. Not a surprise.
Michel ,   Ashkelon   (05.13.15)
Any Israeli governement would be subject to pressure. The difference is that this governement will certainly not bow as easyly as a left one.r
6. Sanctions next. Thanks, Bibi.
Dan   (05.13.15)
This is how a South-Africa-style sanctions campaign gets moving. The world decides (rightly or not) that it can see what needs to be done and when it is not, pressure and sanctions follow. This was completely predictable but Bibi told the world including our main ally to jump in the lake. Well, here we are. Bibi is our main problem: get rid of him.
7. EU needs to fix their problems first
Shep ,   Memphis, TN   (05.13.15)
People who throw stones should not live in glass houses: The world demands that the EU stop the escalation of anti-semitism and terrorism against Jews AND find a humanitarian way to deal with the influx of African refugees - rather than let them drown or detain them in camps. The reallity is that Israel has nobody to make a durable peace agreement with - so why pressure now? There is no way in hell the Israeli public, much less the Israeli government are going to stick their necks out on a forced peace accord with Abbas, Hamas, Isis, AL-Quada inthe neighborhood. In addition, Obama's detente' with Iran - and his legitimizing their nuclear program has iced any possibility of Israel bending backward to please the USA. The irony of this folly is that everyone knows that if the Israelis were to just disappear, Jerusaleum would become a battleground for a Shiite/Sunni war similar to Syria. Diplomats conduct diplomacy in the course of their job - whether conditions are condusive to success or not. There is no reason to seriously consider their need to "work" over Israel's clear view of the situation. Screw John Kerry BTW.
8. Go Bibi Go !
ky   (05.13.15)
sorry to disappoint you I mean he should actually go and step down . If a politician has run his course its him. Israel needs a new face and a new approach. There is more than one way to skin a cat ( my apologies to cats)
9. Elected?
john   (05.13.15)
Hamas democratically elected? When is the next election? It's been nine years already. Unusually long term, innit?
