In small closed market, prices are always higher than in large but less tech efficient ones. Size and a lot of players make prices go lower than just tech efficiency.

Subsidization only makes sense when industry is brand new and needs help to grow to become mature one. Kind of what Israel does with wind and solar industries by introducing and then slowly removing subsidies. Permanent subsidization cripples innovation and technological progress as companies will not improve if profits are guaranteed. Some exceptions are necessary as public transport, but you all know how inefficient and cumbersome public transport industry is.

Israel is a Country with monopolies and cartels, including the Food Producers and importers. >25% of the Population cannot buy enough milk for their children. This a well known fact.

Too bad the Arabs only look into destroying it and not benefit from this land.

Monopoly in the dairy products are crazy in Israel. The government must allow more imports to break it.
