Yanni   (05.23.15)
In the central region the milk doesn't particularly taste good and the dairy products are simply unaffordable for the common people. But it's a nice article for the elites so thank you yediot journo shmournos.

Koose E Mack ,   NY US   (05.22.15)
Great Agricultural Technology and Farmers. Why doesn't the government subsidize them more and make prices of these wonderful products affordable?

Alexander Scheiner ,   Israel   (05.22.15)
and diary products from all OECD. Why?
5. Because it is a closed market.
Boris ,   USA   (05.24.15)
In small closed market, prices are always higher than in large but less tech efficient ones. Size and a lot of players make prices go lower than just tech efficiency.
6. Subsidization is death of innovation.
Boris ,   USA   (05.24.15)
Subsidization only makes sense when industry is brand new and needs help to grow to become mature one. Kind of what Israel does with wind and solar industries by introducing and then slowly removing subsidies. Permanent subsidization cripples innovation and technological progress as companies will not improve if profits are guaranteed. Some exceptions are necessary as public transport, but you all know how inefficient and cumbersome public transport industry is.
7. #5 Monopolies and cartels
Alexander Scheiner ,   Israel   (05.25.15)
Israel is a Country with monopolies and cartels, including the Food Producers and importers. >25% of the Population cannot buy enough milk for their children. This a well known fact.
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (06.26.15)
Too bad the Arabs only look into destroying it and not benefit from this land.
9. #7 very true!
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (06.26.15)
Monopoly in the dairy products are crazy in Israel. The government must allow more imports to break it.
