I have watch over and over again the clip and I can tell you that you have used an access of power over the Soldier. you could have called for help and deal with it at the different level without attacking him outright. You have pushed him so hard that he didn't have a choice to defend himself. You might not be racist but you should have had more brain to use then POWER. you were wrong and you have paid the price for your luck of communicating with member of the public.
