Blair was one of the first to normalize the anti-semitic conjecture that world peace would follow a resolution of the Israel/Palestine conflict, way back when Blair was commander-in-chief, waging wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Faced with failure in the military arena, he looked for the easiest target to bully. And mirroring Blair, the British anti-war movement duly lost focus on the two wars then being fought by the UK by systematically adding the Free Gaza/Palestine subheading to every single anti-war campaign spearheaded during this period. (remember the "we are all Hezbollah" banners at the London demo?) It is very disturbing that a man with these ideas should be charged with such an important task today. I just hope the fight against antisemitism is not the resounding failure which was his attempt to achieve peace in this region.

But good luck and best wishes. I have nothing against him as one of the most popular and best PM's that Britain has had despite the media witch hunt. The situation he faced was one which nobody could have predicted and nobody, not even King Solomon, could have made the "right " decision

When Blair was PM,he and his New Labour cronies didn't miss an opportunity to tell the British people that Israel is the root cause of all the woes and troubles in the Muslim/Arab world. The result was that UK anti-Semitism increased to a heat that we didn't experience again until the BBC took over the role of chief disseminator of anti-Semitism during the Gaza campaign. This appointment is a sick joke. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
