I am disgusted with this pathological compulsion that people have of believing in peace with a people that clearly state that they positively will not have it. These prisoners were Israeli Arabs and the agreement was to only release them if the negotiations were proceeding - and they weren't so Israel did exactly what it said it would do in regard to these specific prisoners - NOT release them.

Abbas demanded release of Arab murderers that are Israeli citizens. Netaniyahu stated he would release the remainder if Abbas agreed to continue negotiations. He suspected Abbas was planning to leave negotiations after the last release. That is exactly what happened. Israel released hundreds of convicted murderers. What compromised did Abbas offer? I challenge you to list one.

It is about US arms shipments to Middle Eastern countries where corrupt dictators are being deposed by votes or revolution and/or hanging on to power at all cost, including lives. The ownership of their weapons can change hands. Look at Egypt...What would the Muslim Brotherhood have done with American weapons...Not only did they attack their own people, but may have attacked Israel as well. ISIS was trained in Jordan by the CIA in 2012 when we all thought they were moderate rebels. In Iraq American weapons were abandoned by the army and now in the hands of ISIS. With tribalism, shifting alliances, revolution, and Fundamentalists (of various religions), no one is safe in the Middle East ~including Israel.

He's arming the Arabs to the teeth with weaponry better than they've ever had and compensating Israel with the useless F35 that costs a fortune,doesn't do what's claimed and will degrade Israel's air force. If Obama wants to buy Israel's co-operation,Israel's government should hold out for something a whole lot more effective than the F35 white elephant.
