Former TA district Bar Assn. chair Ilan Bombach is quoted as saying that this is good for interns because it will insure that they "deal with actual legal work". This is just a canard because quality of work assigned, not length of service, is what will insure with what they deal. His stated goal is better accomplished by close monitoring of the internship, not adding to its length.
