3. A country's immigration policy is no one else's business
Jake   (09.24.15)
It is the sovereign right of every country to let in whomever it wants and keep out whomever it wants. It is not racism; it is self-preservation. That's why Israel has a policy of letting in an unlimited number of Jews, and zero Syrian migrants. Those Eastern European countries need only look at the sorry of Western European countries at the mercy of their burgeoning Islamic populations to understand the dangers of letting in many Moslem migrants, who clearly will never integrate into the culture of the European Christian host country.
4. Nonsense
Gene   (09.25.15)
During WWII Hugary and Slovakia joined Germany while Poland fought against them. In other words: you cannot make comparison between these 3 countries. Besides that, Czechia and Romania also oppose to take "refugees". The reason is that East European population is not as naive as the western one.

This article well may be true philosophically... But just because the new 21st century idealism seems to have shallowly embraced a 'no borders' enlightenment by demographically dividing populance along 'conservative libertarians' and 'social liberalism' and gutless politicians unwilling to stand up to demogoding media machine that lives to hamstring any effective national dilogue on substantive issues such as immigration. Does not mean there is a causative relationship between past and present. There is another alturnative argument to why Poland, Hungary and Slovakia won't open the borders... Which I'll politely call "Islam's own 2%'ers problem, i.e. jidhadist driven terrorism.

Eastern Europe has no desire to see itself buried alive under an endless flow of culturally alien & hostile parasites.
10. Another "professor".
Brad ,   USA   (09.27.15)
Gross is wrong. The countries he falsely accuses, are merely smart enough to recognize an invasion when they see it. By the way, Gross also ignores the historical fact that the Muslims and the nazis were allies in WW2. The grand mufti of Jerusalem spent a lot of time at Germany's Islamische Institut, and two of the eight divisions of Hitler's Wermacht consisted of Bosnian Muslims. With the passage of time, it has become obvious that the first prerequisite to be an intellectual, is to have no brain waves.
11. Refugees/conquerors
J. Natt ,   Israel   (09.29.15)
Not accepting the mosley conquerors has nothing to do with Jews. It has to do with the different culture, the non-acceptance of European values, the very high birthrate of the moslwms, etc etc. Europe takes in the moslwms and the women give birth to 10-15 children. Think what the number of immigrants and their descendants will be in another 20-25 years. Also western Europe should demand that the women take off their covers. Let them also demand of them that they take on European values and the burden of guilt of 6 million murdered. Let's see what results will you get. Orbán is right. Where were the bleeding hearts in all of Europe when Hitler murdered Jews and other undesirables.

Jan T. Gross is a sociologist not a historian to start with and because he got a job at Princeton University it doesn't makes him a historian either but suggest that for some circles he's more useful being 'historian' than sociologist. There's no secret that he's the 'holocaust industry' hired gun creating 'facts' used for their agenda. This nonentity individual battens on Jewish victimhood mentality otherwise he would never sell a book. All the countries you mentioned have a not so great experience with one of their minority in the past that refused to assimilate and integrate creating a state within the state and nothing but problems they creating today in Israel and other countries where they dwell. Curiously there're tons of articles in Jewish media criticizing European reluctance to absorb more refugees and nothing on blatant refuse to take any number by Israel. By the way on Wiki he states that he "emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1969" - In 1969 he was 22 yo and didn't need his parents to pack up and leave, also hundreds of students were jailed in '68 during the student protests but there's not one witness seeing him being arrested and jailed as he claims he was.
13. split is a blatant obsessive antisemite.
шщ ,   Украина   (10.02.15)
The only time he rears his foaming mouth is to spew more lies and antisemitic drivel. He doesn't even pretend to hide his pathological hatred. Go bleat somewhere else.
14. "dry figures"
Justine   (10.04.15)
Gross' figures are not "dry facts" - they're very crude guesses. Nobody knows exactly how many Jews were killed by Poles and the number of Germans killed by Poles is similarly difficult to estimate. Gross said that he counted Germans that would have been killed during the September campaign and in 1944 Warsaw insurrection. He ignored Polish resistance, Polish troops fighting in the West, Polish troops fighting alongside the Soviets...incredibly sloppy.
