1. Can't Trust Obama Or Putin

2. good analysis - but I'd disagree w/ the conclusion:
Rafi ,   US   (09.30.15)
... that Israel needn't worry about Russia for now. Israel should be totally worried: it has new lost its freedom of movement over northern Syria... giving Iran & Hizbollah a much freer hand for their mischief. What else is on the horizon? clashes between IAF and Russian aircraft? Meanwhile - in terms of Putin's strategy - forget about ISIS or even Assad: Putin's move is PRIMARILY a checkmate of American power in the region. He's making hay while the sun shines. He's moving into the ever increasing vacuum that Obama's policies of retreat have created. All previous US Presidents (except Carter) would have had the 6th fleet in action thwarting every move by the Soviets/Russians into Syria. Why let those bastards get a toehold any place in the world?
3. And this is supposed to be an "opinion" article?
Avi L.   (09.30.15)
Isn't there also a russian sub loaded with a "substancial" amount of MIRV nuclear missiles? Aimed at what? the caliphate? You don't need it to deter ISIS ... We won't understand ziltch about that gangster from Moscow until we realize what he is, a super street thug used to threaten and use violence ... with nukes. He does what he does because he can and there is an advantage for him. He just put his foot into the door and I don't see anybody able to disloge him from there. Excepted the mujahidin from ISIS and the umber of body bags shipped home. What a heap. Let's admit we don't have a clue ...
4. Dagestan - not Pakistan, Ron
M ,   London   (09.30.15)
5. Putin has made a true misstep with Syria
Cameron ,   USA   (09.30.15)
Greater Russian presence & weaponry won't stave off the inevitable Sunni triumph. When this weary minority regime in Damascus is finally toppled, the Russians are fated to permanently lose their most reliable ME ally and client, as well as their only naval port and base system for the entire region. Putin has laid the groundwork for a tremendous hit upon Russian influence & real ability within the Arab World.
6. also keep in mind that...
JG   (09.30.15)
Israel Air strike a nuclear reactor facility with military purposes in 2007. Since then have passed eight years. How do you know Syria is not using his reactor in a hidden site ? The Iran deal purpose is not letting Iran acquire a nuclear weapon. Even though, the deal doesnt says that Iran cant build a bomb elsewhere. how do you know Iran and Russia are not transporting uranium and radioactive materials to Syria ? who is monitoring if Syria build a nuclear bomb?
7. Request to join military coordination
Bob   (09.30.15)
If the U.S. And Russia are about to begin militarily coordinating in Syria, then Israel could request to join in the coordinations, because Israel has huge stakes there.
8. good article, but you're in dream world habibi if you think
Rafi ,   US   (09.30.15)
.. that there is no cause for Israel to worry. Forget about Putin's typical lies (combating ISIS or supporting Assad) designed to mask his real intents... This is actually all about Russia establishing a permanent foothold on the eastern Med. For decades the US & NATO have had their Incilrik base in Turkey ... Now, in a matter of only days, Russia has set up a major base of its own across the border in Latakia. This is yet another coup for Putin. He has again outmaneuvered & outfoxed the West! In terms of Israel - this represents a major NEGATIVE change in the regional balance of power. Whereas in recent years, due to the civil war, a power vacuum has existed in Syria - allowing Israel (and NATO) air forces a relatively free hand to operate where they wished... This has now abruptly ended. In Israel's case, aerial surveillance was critical to monitoring Iran and Hizbollah activity. So how could the latest development not be worrying to Israel and the IDF?
9. Evidence against Russia is more than obvious; it is historic
Dean ,   Canada   (09.30.15)
There is no evidence that Russia (and the former Soviet Union) has been anything other than against Israel. Their client states Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, etc., were sold arms and equipment that went to make war with Israel. Without Russia, perhaps one or two of the wars in the Middle East could have been avoided. The whole concept of “Palestine” as a distinct people was fleshed out in the highest propaganda offices and universities in the Soviet Union and designed to replace Jews in their ancient homeland with Muslims. Russia’s meddling has left countless Jews and Arabs dead due to Russian appetite to create new markets for its arms, to get oil and to make sure the West did not dominate the region. I think that it is wishful thinking that anything good could come of a permanent foothold of the Russian army in Syria. They might not directly target Israel but their proxies will and Russia will be there to serve, arm and defend those terrorist proxies. This may all backfire on Russia with increases in terrorism at home and the Arabs turning against them as they did eventually in Egypt (and Afghanistan).
10. Ron is absolutely right. #2 Rafik the Arab always gets a fit

11. Putin has the US by the ghoolies!
Koose E Mack ,   ny us   (10.01.15)
Thanks to President Zero..The US military has shrunk to an all time low. If B"H", a Conservative Republican is elected, it will take much time and money to rebuild the US Arsenal...That means, Israel will stand alone against Putin the Thug and Iran. Hopefully the Saudis, Kuwaitis, and the UAE will put their Jew Hatred aside and realize that their best friend in this fiasco is Israel?
