unbelievable these journoschmournos have the mntal capacity of water buffaloes.
2. Auckland Jewish community
Michael Kraft ,   Silver Spring MD USA   (10.12.15)
Actually there are Jewish communities even further away in New Zealand. Wellington, the capitol and the southern tip of the North Island has a community similar to Auckland's. Christchurch and Dunedin, in the South Island are even further away and have rather small communities. To get to those cities, except from Australia, one has to fly first to Auckland. .
3. I like it...it made me smile!

4. Shtable
Israel   (10.11.15)
A "shtable" sounds like the place where horses are kept. I think the author meant the "Shteible".
5. oh and one more thing....
Jew-C ,   JewLandia (Israel)   (10.11.15)
the world's most distant congregation is in fact the congregation in Wellington not the one in Auckland. please check it...the distance between Wellington and Jerusalem is greater than the distance between Auckland and Jerusalem.
6. this is a really superficial article...
Jew-C ,   JewLandia (Israel)   (10.11.15)
what is the name of the Auckland Community's Rabbi? is there a chabad in Auckland? are there reform and/or conservative communities in Auckland? same questions for the rest of New Zealand...a hint to the writer...girlfriend go have a look in Wellington, Nelson, and Queens Town. oh and for the record...all of the rabbis of New Zealand got together and found a way around the issues regarding Kosher Shee-ta. it really is a good story go ask one of the rabbis.
7. Inaccurate
Ann ,   Singapore   (10.14.15)
There are many inaccuracies in your article which is a shame as it's an interesting community to profile. Moriah School was in Wellington not Auckland. Kadimah has always encouraged and had non-Jewish students - choices that were based on its principles of inclusivity by non-Jewish parents. It's an integrated school not a fully public school which means it retains its special character. For as long as I have been a member the community imports a range of kosher meat from Australia along with regular chicken kills. The range of kosher foods is quite good especially the local kosher wine. Please if your going to write about a vibrant & committed community - get the facts right.
8. Inaccurate Article
Yehuda Leib ,   Australia   (10.23.15)
This article is totally inaccurate. The school that closed was in Wellington, not Auckland.
