1. Stop the scaremongering
Marty ,   AKL   (10.24.15)
Tanks, drones and snipers will do the job. Go Israel Go! Am Israel Hay
2. Areas A, B, C
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (10.24.15)
Clearly, the Refugee Camps should not be in Areas B or C. Israel is never going to either annex them or make the people there feel that the IDF is not a foreign enemy force. Indeed, every time the IDF enters a camp, it is considered a hostile invasion.
3. Oh my! The 'good' jihadists have guns!
David ,   Hartford USA   (10.24.15)
And if they shoot some innocent Israeli or attack an IDF post, the entire IDF and police will reduce their neighborhoods to dust. If that's what modern Arabs want- to be homeless- then good for them. Have you ever seen such morons in your life? And 'Palestinian' leadership courts them! If any gunfights come from the 'refugee camp' (let's call lit what it is- a village), the IDF should line up 20 D-10s and flatten the whole place. If you can't live peacefully, you won't be allowed to live in the neighborhood. And Netanyahu/IDF allows such a mass of weapons in the hands of local jihadists? Sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen.
4. Tanzim
IRV ,   USA   (10.24.15)
According to articles author Israel should keep bribing the PA security forces with salaries or they will join the Tanzim? How stupid! Bribery! Really shows that the PA security apparatus is willing to extort shekels and keep their hearts with the Tanzim. Get rid of both groups and true peace will follow.
5. Per CJ Chivers ("The Gun") there are OVER 100 million
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (10.24.15)
AK-47 and equivalence weapons on this earth with thousands more being made each and every day. If Israel gets into a shooting war to the death, it will lose because there is not enough "cannon fodder" in Israel to last very long (like Syrians and many other humans, most will simply flee the war zone to Europe and USA, never to return). The IDF leadership appears to actually understand just how dangerous the situation is, but have no way of shutting up the extreme right wing in Israel that is pouring gasoline on the flames. Unfortunately the Israeli right believe their own myths and think that they can simply exterminate the non-Jews, which is NOT what will happen. Things are getting scary. If I were an Israelis, I would have left long ago for a safer life elsewhere.
6. This Tanzim crew due to topple over Fatah?
Cameron ,   USA   (10.24.15)
Unfamiliar with this lot, but they do have the ring of potential radical rivals to Hamas for the daffy hearts & minds of Palis.
7. So, Shimon&Co:you brought guns to Arab terrorists and hoped
(10.24.15)
they'll use them for clay-shooting?! The present Festival of St.Itzhak should be properly utilized, so the wide, unwashed masses learn of that monumental crime against the Jewish People, that the Oslo agreements were!
8. VITAL ARTICLE MARRED BY TOO MANY TYPOS, POOR EDITING
Melekh Shaul ,   London UK   (10.24.15)
This is a very timely and relevant analysis, providing essential data into the backdrop of Palestinian resistance beyond the knife attacks, what Israeli military and security forces can expect when they make future incursions into the West Bank. The picture of the decline of the the dead dog that is the PA, and the 3 pronged game pursued by Hamas, all point to an increasingly disastrous future landscape of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Two things stand out - the echoes of where the Jews of the Yishuv were prior to the end of the Mandate and the internal rifts between the Ben Gurion lead establishment and the dissidents in Irgun and Etzel. This means that as much as Israelis dismiss the Palestinians, when it comes to armed struggle they are ready to fight, outnumbered and outgunned and divided in their leadership though they may be. The 2nd thing is that this article has been so badly edited there were places where I had to read sentences twice to get their meaning.
9. #3 - Delusional keyboard warrior safe in USA
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (10.24.15)
As i noted above, there are hundreds of millions of AK-47 type weapons in earth and per the IDF there are over 1000000 missile type devices pointed at Israel. Lets be very plain, what David advocates is open warfare between Israel and the Arabs, which will definitely get thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Israelis killed and there is the very real possibility that Israel could LOSE! Sure there are the myths about Israelis being mighty warriors, but as has been clearly demonstrated in Iraq and Afghanistan and by ISIS, Muslims can inflict LOTS of damage. There is a very good reason the USA withdrew form Iraq and Afghanistan and it is not because the POTUS is somehow a coward. As Sun Tzu clearly advised, do NOT be delusion about your opponents alleged weaknesses nor your own strength because the surest way to LOSE is to underestimate your opponent. THINK very, very carefully before following David's advise.
10. #4 - Bribery works well
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (10.24.15)
HOW, exactly, do you propose to "get rid of both groups?" Any method you choose, besides bribery, will GUARANTEE that many Israel will die, possibly tens of thousands by the time the dust settles. Keep in mind that getting rid of a group just leaves a power vacuum that ensures a WORSE group will take over. So apparently you want to have ISIS in the WB?
11. Answer is in Ki Tavo and may H" Bless the IDF
Deborah ,   Jerusalem   (10.24.15)
12. HONESTLY ask yourself this - WHO will replace Fatah?
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (10.25.15)
Everyone in Israel seems to be eager to eliminate Fatah and Hamas, but NO ONE ever asks "WHO will fill that power vacuum?" I can guarantee if you actually think about it for a few seconds, you will realize that whoever replaces Fatah and/or Hamas will be MORE MILITANT, MORE ANGRY and MORE DEADLY than those they replace. That is just how human power structures work (for 50000 years and counting). Israel has totally destroyed the "moderates" in Palestine and will have to deal (probably wildly unsuccessfully) with very radical people (and NO, force will NOT work). Maybe Israel needs to make sure the existing leadership has some major "wins" before they are replaced by people that will ensure that the Palestinians "win," making Israeli live very miserable in the process.
13. Fatah on the verge of extinction
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (10.28.15)
same with Hamas..two failed sides of the same coin....
14. EVEN IF PALIS WANT PEACE, THE MONEY AND OTHER
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (10.30.15)
radical elements will never agree to it. Muslims are so divided and bent on killing and revenge that they will not allow any moderate thinking enter the arena. The cultic mullah religion ideology over powers them every single day. That is how mullahs stay in power in any Muslim country. Wage the religion flag & the hopeless naive will follow. Even if they want to live in peace with Jews and get good jobs and prosper, they will always be looked at as traitors. That is how their structure and mindset work. They can't make their own decisions. The mullah should make it for them or they have to be killed or dishonored.
