Why should she? Whatever they suffer they have brought upon themselves. It is the result of living in a delusional bubble!

somewhere just after 1967. Did she ever meet any Palestinians on her travels, I wonder? I am reminded of the prophetic words spoken by Jewish intellectual Yeshayahu Leibowitz after 1967, when he began warning that the occupation of the Palestinian territories would turn Israel into an agent of repression, whose citizens would be employed in growing numbers to police the Palestinians. Israel had to "liberate itself from this curse of dominating another people," he said, arguing that prolonged Israeli rule over the Palestinians would "bring about a catastrophe for the Jewish people as a whole." It is frightening to see to what extent Leibowitz's prophecy has come to pass. The reality of 2015 in Israel is a world away of the society that Helen Mirren is painting. I suspect that she wasn't too keen to rock the boat at this Israel Film Festival. That is a real shame. I would have expected braver words from her.

MICHEAL CHESTER YOU IGNORANT MAN THEIR IS NO SUCH PLACE AS PALESTINE. THEY HAVE BROUGHT THEIR OWN TROUBLES THROUGH THE HATRED OF ISRAEL. WHO CURSES ISRAEL SHALL BE CURSED. LONG LIVE ISRAEL.
13. #10 You're stuck in your propaganda swamp
Benji ,   US   (11.04.15)
Palestinians are biting the hand that feeds, heals and employs them. That assistance and generosity may not continue due to their barbaric behavior which you ignore. While you see the Palestinians as your caged pets, there is another world view that sees them no different than ISIS. The Palestinians are free to make movies and demonstrate creative instead of hostile, violent communication. Still, you don't see Israelis wasting their time on boycotts or bully behavior like those in the UK. Frankly, you could learn a lot from Helen Mirren. Kudos to her!
14. To No. 12.

No such place as Palestine? Don't be silly, of course there is. Palestine has a much longer pedigree than Tel Aviv, a 20th century construction, as indeed many places in present-day Israel are.
