1. secret blacklist
Ex oleh chadash   (11.12.15)
How about people that were converted into Judaism by Reform-Conservative rabbinate? Are they in a secret blacklist too? A Jewish version of "Tribunal del Santo Oficio" is coming soon to this country.
2. But if you have enough $ or protectzia ur kid gets off list!
(11.12.15)
The Rabbinate is filled with hypocrites!
3. Article is pure fantasy

4. Nice opinion piece
David ,   New york   (11.12.15)
But where is actual news reporting? Why is someone with such a hatchet to bury allowed to report the news in a way to further her agenda?
5. secular articles are proving that Israel not a Jewish state
roger   (11.12.15)
Do secular Jews enjoy anything more in their empty life than slandering the Torah, halakhah, Rabbis and religious Jews in general?
6. Put an End to This by Boycotting the Rabbinate
Susan ,   Raanana   (11.12.15)
The Rabbinate has power because people continue to get married through them. By arranging a legal partnership instead of a religious one, the woman doesn't have to go through numerous humiliations. And by the way, as a lactation consultant I can say that the Rabbis intervene where it is none of their damned business. Let them study and do 4,000 clinical hours and then we'll talk.
7. Jewish Talibans
Abu Yussef al Yahudi ,   Bue_Aires-Argentina   (11.12.15)
These individuals of the "Court" that called themselves "Rabbis" are in fact very cruel people. Indeed they deserve to be labeled as the "Jewish Talibans", or maybe more exactly "ISIS Jews". Shame on these unworthy people
8. hateful article
yehuda ,   israel   (11.12.15)
and poorly written on top of it.
9. Welcome to real world ,...

They control every aspect of your life but it doesn't prevent your politicians to call this religious bantustan the only democracy in that part of the world and a light unto the nations ,... Wait when they grow in numbers ,...
10. What happens to those who are listed as

Indeed an absurd situation but you make one error. You refer to Israel as a "modern state". Everyone knows that in matters of marriage, social issues, family status etc Israel is a long way from coming into that category but is stuck in the dark ages with possibly no chance of getting out of there. Such a pity.
12. rabblerousing hogwash

I have no great love for the rabbanut, but R Lubitch is a known pot stirring feminist ideologue. For people like her, the fine line between truth and fantasy is very blurred.
13. Bastard
Jack de Lowe ,   Raanana   (11.12.15)
The concept of being a 'bastard' is a completely Christian idea and does not exist in Judaism. The author further states that the number of Mamzarim tripled over the past 10 years. I would like to see the actual numbers involved and what the source of those numbers are.
14. rabbinic bastards
allen ,   raanana   (11.12.15)
Madam, you more than most should know that the rabbinic court has little interest in solving problems, most of the public it is supposed to serve and who pay its costs are simply "invisible" people in their eyes and until that attitude changes we'll have no rabbinate addressing the challenges of now!
15. Haredim
JDE ,   Boston   (11.14.15)
The comments posted here by the Orthodox - "Article is pure fantasy", "hateful article and poorly written on top of it", "Do secular Jews enjoy anything more in their empty life than slandering the Torah, halakhah, Rabbis and religious Jews in general?" - illustrate the utter impossibility of communication with the frum. They will always protect their fragile hold on their security blanket (manifested in this case as their faith in their rabbonim), and anyone who threatens it becomes the enemy. As long as Israel allows the Orthodox to control marriage, conversion and control of sites such as the Kotel, this problem will persist.
16. You Can Change Things
Christy ,   Boston, US   (11.14.15)
You have more power over things than you realize. If enough of you dislike this situation you can change it. Evidently, it still goes on because not enough want things to change. Don't wait for leaders to change things - start small and change them yourself.
17. bastards
kay ,   houston   (10.30.18)
well i am one, and have been outcast all my life -never asked my people for a thing , if anything support my people, and find now my children also outcast. why? because of the faults of our elders? never invited to family events, asked not to appear in photos, looked at like a mass murderer, not remotely welcome at Synagoge! OMG walk in these shoes. they hurt. thanks
