5. decline in tourism ,why?
tomer ,   jerusalem   (11.27.15)
the story of marketing, marketing or even paying partly for tourists only to arrive is bound to yield no results. Our you have a"brand" or you don"t. If israels builds and promotes only 5stars at exhorbitant prices tourists will stay away. And those who have been at so called first class hotels at ;Dead sea hotels will not come again. Those hotels survived with special deals for the "vaadim" and the hotel rooms and facilities look exactly like that. If you can not offer 2-3 stars accomodation with clean ,nice rooms, good service at reasonable prices you will not get tourists. Its not the security issues what puts tourists off . Its lousy, overpriced ,run down hotels with bad service. Israels tourism is not geared to get returning guests. Its the one time guest who pays, sees and goes home disappointed.
6. ISRAELI HOTELS
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (11.28.15)
FIRST OF ALL I SAID TO MY NEPHEW JOE WHY DO PEOPLE SAY THAT ISRAELI HOTELS ARE EXPENSIVE, HE ANSWERED, BECAUSE WE LIKE TO KEEP A GOOD STANDARD, WE DONT WANT PEOPLE EATING CRAP FOOD. WE STAY IN A BOUTIQUE HOTEL CALLED THE SHALOM HOTEL, OPPOSITE THE HILTON, ON HAYARKON ST. ITS ABOUT £160 A NIGHT WITH BREAKFAST, AND THEY HAVE A SNAK TIME BETWEEN 5 AND 7 IN THE EVENING, THE STAFF CANT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU TRY IT.
7. ISRAELI HOTELS
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (11.28.15)
BARBARA WE LIKE TO KEEP A GOOD STANDARD, IN ISRAEL, THEIR IS A TENDENCY TO NOW STAY IN BOUTIQE HOTELS, AND THEY ARE SPROUTING UP IN DIFFERENT PLACES IN ISRAEL. ATLAS HOTELLS. BARBARA ITS NOT FARE TO SAY THAT HOTELS IN FRANCE GERMANY SPAIN ETC ARE CHEAPER, HA THOSE COUNTRIES NEED THE MONEY, EUROPE BIG CITIES ARE GOING DOWN THE PLUG HOLE. WE NEED TO KEEP A CERTAIN STANDARD. IN ISRAEL. DANNY.
8. Tourist leave Israeli hotels behind
David ,   Usa   (11.28.15)
Quote: the main tool for bringing tourist to Israel is; marketing.marketing and again marketing .unquote I see this approach as lying cheating and again lying and cheating Instead of marketing why don't you fix the beach in Eilat. Get all the rocks out of the sand. Charge reasonable fees to compete with surrounding countries as i see it unless a person has a religious or personal connection to Israel they're is absolutely nothing to do there. There are other places ten times nicer and cheaper Go fix your beaches
9. Israel Hotels are awful
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (11.30.15)
Let's face it most of what used to be nice the Israeli hotels were built decades ago and they look it. The rooms are dark the places reek of the 80's at best. Then you look at the prices and all I can say is this is why Air BnB will outshine and outperform hotels in Israel for at least another decade.
10. 3 reasons for overpricing
Raphael ,   Netanya   (12.03.15)
1) Change rate of NIS 2) Security expenses 3) Racketeering of Beit Din: the fees to keep the cashrut certificate are a vital income source for the rabbanut.
11. decline in tourist stays in hotels
A Cohen ,   NY, USA   (12.06.15)
the major cause of decline in tourist stays in hotels especially in Jerusalem is the high cost. Hotels have gone overboard on room cost which is very expensive and on top of that the hotel charges for meals on shabbat and holidays have become a rip off to incoming tourists with charges as high as high as $125-$150 per meal per person. Tourists are getting tired of getting suckered and are renting short term apartments instead even though they prefer hotels. Until the hotel industry decides to charge normal prices they are going to lose more customers than they are netting on their ridiculous price gauging
