Syria is not worth destroying the US economically and not worth the lives since our "allies" would not take over and do the long term occupation and nation building. Let us know when Israel and the rest of the neighbors will have a rotating half million troops to occupy the state-build. Let the US know when the multiple trillion dollars will be paid and by whom for the cost of the conquest. The US has been burned twice by promises of it paying for itself and being cost free in US blood and short simple solutions. Congress refuses to raise the money to pay for wars or declare wars.
