The fact that lead was present in the fourth millennium is certainly surprising, and that it was discovered in an older tomb, of 6,ooo years ago is stunning. The shape of the two sticks lead me to believe that it held a Torah or some scroll as we see today in synagogues and temples with their silver ornaments.
