1. SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (12.09.15)
How about cutting all the ridiculous red tape and bureaucratic games and actually making life here in Israel less difficult for immigrants?
2. Sad ,...
split ,...   (12.09.15)
It must be out of the happiness due to treatment they experience in promised land overflowing with brotherly love, not to mention all the milk and honey ;) ,...
3. 22 US soldiers commit suicide daily.
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (12.09.15)
they need a period away from the battle field or, they get polluted. ( according to the Torah) Any one read that lately? And, no milk and honey here. KEEP BUILDING !!!
4. ease of adjusting
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (12.10.15)
My family had many problems, but since there are many Americans living here in Israel, we made many friends amongst the Americans and that helped us out getting adjusted into Israeli life. Not being a Russian, I do not know what the internal Russian community is like, but I find that most people find common bonds in cultural similarities. However I should mention that I have known many Americans who came but went back when the going got rough. Many Russians do not always have that option...
5. Much easier to make Aliya with assets.

6. Since Israel's citizens make up basically of olims,
Johanna   (12.10.15)
this statistic doesn't mean much.
7. Suitable employment
Moshe ,   Israel   (12.10.15)
Approved by the immigrant, particularly with high education or with an occupation he/she is not ready to change, is one of the factors for preventing suicide. The Ministry of Absorption should guarantee such specific job, if it can, and it should be offered to the would-be ole by the Jewish Agency's emissary. I know about immigrant from Russia, a doctor of history, who committed suicide after working a while as an entrance guard in a parking lot.
8. of course
Ex oleh chadash   (12.10.15)
Jewish communities abroad must stop doing Zionist propaganda. Young people tend to dream of Israel as being paradise for Jewish people - it's not. All my alyah process was traumatic too. They addressed me to a mercaz klitah, I did not know what a mercaz klita is. I entered into the apartment for first time that must be shared with someone strange to me - There were drugs in the apartment. Harassment, pessimism, ulpan instructors not willing to teach well - it was like hell. Everything bad. I came to Israel years later and was victim of robbery, jugglery; also, looking for a job, people asked me where I came from. It's the first question they ask you. It sounds like racism to me. Your qualifications don't matter, just the place you came from. I was refused simple jobs, like a postman position, just because I came from a third world country. Israelis don't care about you. Apartments are expensive to rent, you can't save money- at the end of the tale, you have nothing, just disappointment. A lot of people come back to their countries of origin, but, of course, they don't disclose statistics. Tons of those people convert to another religion, or stop going to synagogue. I say what I see.

11. For I while
..   (12.12.15)
I dealt with the Jewish Agency. Please DONT MAKE ALIYAH...... so many who did, returned to their home country after being disgusted with Israel after a very short time. I live here and I hate it. If only I could go back to Europe, but since I know how to "struggle" here and enjoy my "struggling" - I stay. You want to live in Israel, just take lessons from the Knesset members, the rabbis, the ministers...... that's what I do........ then you can make a decent living. And if you don't learn the lessons, just go..... GO....
12. depression starts after disappointment
Brazil   (12.15.15)
Life in this country is hard for everybody, for native Israelis too. Think about how many wars, terror attacks, crap jobs, arrogant people, etc. - who can be happy in a place like this? Some people think Israel is a first world country - it's NOT. If you are reading this, look for help. Everybody coming to Israel will suffer post traumatic stress disorder. I needed psychology help after I came back to my country of origin. I still read Israeli newspapers often. I must stop this. I have a relative that made alyah years ago. She says she feels living in a terror movie. As I said before, this is (PTSD). Look for help, save your life.
13. A country that despises human resources.
Sad, but true.   (12.15.15)
If you are talent, skilled - try another country. People think someone that holds a PhD will be happy cleaning rooms, or washing dishes at some restaurant, or doing others jobs like that. They say it's your fault (because you don't speak Hebrew enough). All for Zionism! Then, you realize you work hard just to pay your baal ha-baita (parasite landlord), the owner of your apartment. You will be a tenant for a long time there, and will have nothing. Then, you give up. You are not alone. It happens to a lot of people! Israelis think: another sucker will come, to give me money. You are disposable. Ben Gurion once said: " Israel will make Jewish people everywhere proud of being Jewish". Today, I feel shame of being a Jew. I'm not like those Israelis. Then, they write a comment like #6 - you don't matter.
