If a soldier sees other soldiers doing something wrong, there is a chain of command in the IDF that he can make a report to. To go to a outside group that uses the information to defame the State if Israel is not the correct path. 'Breaking the Silence' is a left wing anti-Israel group like 'Amnesty int.' and 'Peace Now' that is out to defame our state and to cause us harm abroad. If you want to do it right, do it correctly all the way. There are ways of complaining inside the IDF with out defaming the State.

I know personally the Breaking the Silence tour guide who does the Hebron tours. How? Because he served in Hebron in the same battalion as me at the same time. And you know what, he completely makes up the stories about what happened there. And you know who he speaks to, not mainly Israeli's, but foreigners. Tell me exactly how that is supposed to arouse public discussion in Israel exactly?

It is sad that those on the left seem to ignore the word FACT. The FACT is that Breaking the Silence have been caught lying numerous times. They have no investigative section just take the word of anyone with no evidence and their whole agenda is based on assumptions. These and other points should be enough to take away all credibility but sadly the left don't care about reality as long as it pushes their agenda. They have no interest in helping Israel and most of their work is directed at foreign Israel haters not as they claim towards Israelis. There have always been Jews in the world who have actively and openly worked against their own people using lies and incitement. Here is another example. It is pathetic that media propagates this incitement against Israel. As I have said before when Media helps spread lies they are to blame for death and violence. THERE IS NO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD EXCEPT ISRAEL WHICH WOULD ALLOW FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS TO FUND INCITEMENT AND LIES AND EVEN THOSE CALLING FOR ITS DESTRUCTION. Anyone who isn't aware yet the Palestinians fund this org. Very credible funded by a dictatorship. It seems the left will work with anyone and do anything to push their agenda.

In a same society they are despised, yes! Also here in Israel they are despised. Together with Amnesty, Peace Now and Rabbis with out Borders, these are groups of self hating Jews who are helping our enemy who seeks to destroy us. What they are doing is disgusting and demented. They deserve to be exposed and banned.

Breaking the Silence has every right to bring to light what they see as violations of whatever they want to call it. The problems are: 1. They are not bringing to light individual violations - they are aiming to delegitamize the entire IDF which is an affront to all Israelis. 2. They have admitted that they don't have any mechanism to determine if the claims made are true or false - so they "assume" they are true. 3. They support the BDS movement which not only wants to delegitimize the IDF but also Israel as a whole. 4. Their funding not only comes from the PA, but also from overseas NGOs who are blatantly anti-israel. 5. There are mechanisms withing the IDF to deal with individual violations - but BTS deems it much more "productive" to spread the campaign against the IDF, and that is basically what their program is, to overseas organizations and governments. The author of the article completely misses these points.

I served as a combat soldier and we prided ourselves on the professional standards we held ourselves. We never did anything or unlawful that this article makes out is rampid but unfortunately we couldn't be nice either. Kindness by IDF soldiers unfortunately is seen as weakness in the territories and puts your life at risk. Unfortunately to protect yourself and keep the calm soldiers like any other army operating in the world must be firm.and professional This article is a load of garbage and I can see it only being used as a tool of propaganda by Pro Palestinian and Anti Israel groups
