Between the threat of being stabbed or shot and the extraordinarily high prices for hotels...Is anyone surprised?

Decent hotels (not -3 star hostels) cost about $700-800 per night from beginning of Passover to November. New York and London are cheaper! Business men are not staying because of security issues but because of the cost!
