French Jews leaving in record numbers – but not for the reason you think Most Jewish emigres come from middle-class areas with little anti-Semitism. Only 15% are from poor, heavily Muslim areas that see frequent anti-Jewish attacks BY CNAAN LIPHSHIZ January 6, 2016, 3:36 am Benhaim cites as evidence the fact that a majority of French Jewish emigres come from middle- and upper-class areas with little anti-Semitism. Only 15 percent are from poor areas with large Muslim populations and a high incidence of anti-Jewish attacks – a result, Benhaim said, of a reluctance to forego France’s generous social welfare benefits. “Those who leave can afford to let go of the French welfare system,” Benhaim said. “Mostly they live where anti-Semitic attacks are relatively rare, and in many cases, anti-Semitism is not a primary catalyst for moving but a sort of a background presence.” http://www.timesofisrael.com/french-jews-leaving-in-record-numbers-but-not-for-the-reason-you-think/

7. french jews ....
tomer ,   jerusalem   (02.01.16)
i do not know when and who made this comprehensive survey and what questions were asked. I know that last year 8000 jews left france for israel ,so to speak, more than 20% of those came to buy an apartment and returned. More than 50 % complain that it is very difficult or impossible to work as doctor or dentist with french qualifications,or as lawyer or accountant etc. The complain about cost of living and "about insecurity". In paris,my friends tell me they do not understand those who want to emigrate.France is in their "blood",they would never leave it. And they said they will not be cowards and yield to islamic terror by leaving.
8. France has a very serious problem
C   (02.01.16)
france was always antisemitic, as was all of europe. the addition of over six million muslims to the french population, who do not assimilate and are radicalised by saudi funded radical mosques, have hugely aggrevated jew hatred in france. add to that the political climate which leads to pro-muslim policies, and the result is that jews cannot stay in europe. there is not any political will to safeguard the republic, let alone its jewish citizens. the police are undermanned, underfunded and are ordered to stay out of muslim quarters and banlieus. france is barely alive, unfortunately. old beautiful paris has been destroyed. sometimes conservatism is essential--conservatism in the sense of conserving for ever.
9. The French come for tax avoidance in france
Keeping it ,   Real   (02.02.16)
Tax is so high in France.ncan be as high as 85% It's easier to invest in property in Israel as an olim where you pay no tax for TEN years and the French gov can't access it.
10. #7 well said Tomer. Totally agree

I'm considering to convert myself into Umbanda - it's a Brazilian voodoo religion. They talk to spirits of death people. They also predict the future. Very popular here. Another choice might be Islam. They also eat falafel.
12. Moving to Israel with its corruption
ruven tzbari ,   israel   (02.06.16)
The people considering Israel will have a few rude awaking especially when they encounter the corrupt drivers lisence testers. The idea that you can drive in Paris where you have traffic nightmares. However you will fail tests here for one to take more and more of your time and money. The who system in this area is corrupt. From the top down There is no reason for the system that makes you take driving lessons, and then several driving tests until an tester feels has plenty of people in line behind you to keep his job. I suggest Canada or the USA where you just present your lisence and take the wriiten test that you understand the signs.
