WALLS WORK if policed and patrolled.

Moshe, the point is that the Berlin Wall eventually came down. The East German regime - as with other Communist states - met its end as a totally bankrupt entity. Such walls are built out of fear and weakness, not from hope and strength. Israel must surely reflect the latter, not the former, or else it will have re-created for itself a ghettoised existence. Hardly Jewish liberation.

The proposed Israeli fence is aimed at preventing Palestinian terrorists from murdering innocent Jews, and as the Gaza Strip fence proves, it capable of achieving its goal. Thus, such fence provides Israeli citizens "hope and strength".
