israel has great R& D, some very good soldiers considering it has only been in business for 67 years. \however, there is something wrong with the training and quality control of soldiers. while shalit had great perseverance and control to last so many years in hamas dungeons, he apparently was not much of a soldier. likewise peretz, kahlon and too many others including bibi who seems to have no clue on how to fight and go for the throat. idf has to toughen up the manpower, aas the training is too lax. and soldiers should be given promotions real merit. don\t tell me about captain netanyahu or major olmert.
