those combating BDS are mainly voluntary initiatives like Creative Community for Peace, while Israeli government activity has been limited to brave individual officials who are exceptions to the general indifference. Even if Weiss has exaggerated the so-called loyalty clause, to sue him for defamation would be a further act of folly: another case of fighting one's friends instead of one's enemies. Now the government has allocated a vast sum of money to combating BDS, but seems not to know what to do with it. Even a fraction of that money would transform the finances of the voluntary organizations that have been doing the real work.
