1. MK Smotrich's proposals
David Yisrael ,   Berkeley, USA   (04.06.16)
Perfect solution for MK Smotrich & his wife's problem w/ integrated maternity wards, potential newborn terrorists & unpure arab gynocologist hands touching their newborn's tender skin: Homebirth!
2. Smotrich is evil
Sagi   (04.06.16)
and so is his wife. Regarding the boisterous commotions of glee that Arab families hold in the maternity ward the solution is very simple, the hospital should simply ban it in the ward and provide a separate adjacent room for this express purpose. Both sides have their rights in this respect, one for peace and quiet and the other for loud enjoyment.

6. As such, separation is not a bad thing. We all are doing this
(04.07.16)
if only to strengthen individuality & family/national bonds. If done fairly, on equal foot, why not? Do I want my grandchildren come into this world surrounded by cries & prayers of religious nuts? Not really. Give me a separate ward, thank you.....
7. Despicable Ben Caspit should be first banned from media then
(04.07.16)
Israel. Smotrich reveals deep concern for our country, Ben Caspit : a deeply rooted visceral hatred of own kind!
8. MK Betzalel Smotrich is a national discrace
Dana   (04.07.16)
MK Betzalel Smotrich should be removed from the Knesset as he is not fit to serve the public. His rascist remarks show his true identity and gives power to those who seek to destroy us.
9. We're religious and not racist
moriah ,   mazkeret batya   (04.07.16)
My daughter gave birth and shared a room with 2 Palestinians. It turned out to be a learning/sharing experience for her and the woman next to her. Their family couldn't have been nicer. If we don't open ourselves to dialogue and sharing, how will we ever make peace?
10. We have the same problem in hospitals in Norway
Beary White ,   Norway   (04.06.16)
Norwegian women do get private rooms due to the overwhelming noisy muslim big families attending a muslim female giving birth. Obvious the immigrants are not familiar with western way of behavior, and this is the only way young, half-naked Norwegian women can be protected from laying on-parade to Islamic men, so to say....

12. in hospital with Arab room mate
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (04.07.16)
I have been in the hospital here with an Arab room mate. His family came, not one or two, but the whole clan. They took up all the chairs, mad such noise, took away any semblance of privacy that I might have desired. Of course there was no conversation when we were alone, since he did not speak Hebrew or English, and I don't know Arabic. That was their way of visiting. By us Jews, we are quieter, more concerned not to disturb the others. There are of course exceptions, but this is the way it is. So, I believe that a patient should have a choice to be moved to a room with a room mate that he/she can recooperate with.
13. maternity wards
caleb afendopoulo ,   brooklyn   (04.07.16)
I don't see this as racist but of practicality and mentality. I can attest that in the Safed hospital even though there are fixed hours for visitation nobody enforces them. In the US in many places there are signs 500-1000 meters from the hospital calling for not making excessive noise. In the Safed hospital people come in at all hours en masse esp Druse who come with the entire 'hamula'{clan} at their own convenience and nobody from the management says a thing. After all if one is in a hospital rest is obviously necessary and the non-enforcement of visiting hours is very disturbing. But this is the middle east and a far cry from western civilisation. I believe visiting hours should be strict for the welfare of the patients and as far as separating ethnicities and not being under the care of an Arab doctor is just an expression of the state of things in Israel.
14. I am not racist but....
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (04.08.16)
Really? A bit like 'I am not anti-Semitic but...' or 'some of my best friends are Jews/Arabs/Druze....'. How about just saying: hospitals are public spaces where due consideration should be given for the health and welfare of everyone there and excessive, noisy, continuous celebratory displays should take place elsewhere - no matter who the participants are.
15. Re #10
iselin ,   oslo   (04.08.16)
There are very few private rooms at Norwegian hospitals, and they are for the most seriously ill patients. Norwegian women certainly do not get private rooms to separate them from Muslim women. My daughter was hospitalized for 9 weeks in the maternity division of Oslo's main hospital before she gave birth, because she was a high risk patient. All rooms were doubles and she always had Norwegian roommates. Finally, she asked the staff why she never got a non-Norwegian roommate. The explanation was simple, logical and nonprejudicial: Norwegians like to sleep with the window open, those from warmer climates do not (at least in Norway, where nights can be chilly, even in summer). Cultural differences, that's all. It sounds like Israeli hospitals deliberately pair Jews and Arabs in hospital rooms. This is not the place for ecumenism. Having a baby is a huge source of stress and it would be expedient for everyone to place Jews with Jews, etc. Why create problems when easy solutions are at hand?
