1. BDS and Settlements get a clue
Yardena   (04.22.16)
Listening to the words of BDS leaders such as Omar Barghouti you soon realize that the end goal of BDS is nothing less than the total elimination of the Jewish state. But unlike Barghouti, most of the BDS movement has the common sense not to state this so publicly. As such, BDS efforts have been ostensibly focused around boycotting settlements; although in practice this still allows campaigners to attack most Israeli companies by making flimsy arguments about guilt by association.
2. thank you!
Ed ,   Portland, USA   (04.22.16)
This is what we've been saying for several years now. The BDS movement gets it's strength from the lack of any serious effort to change the paradigm. The last thing Israel needs is more hasbarah.
3. 'The need for a policy of good will'
tiki ,   belgium   (04.22.16)
When Israel will only show Palestinians their good will (again), they will let go of their hate towards the Jewish state. *No they won't! Israel should stop their 'settlement' building for that gives ammunition to the Israel haters. *To the Israel haters the whole of Israel is one big settlement! Israel should make a 'free port out of Gaza, this biggest prison of the world on condition of disarmament. *As Palestinians are masters in twisting spoken words, made promises and revoking signed treaties, this doesn't look like a very good idea. Israel has to stop the Gaza blockade, and change the despair & isolation of the Palestinians...than they will change into peace doves and the BDS into lovers of Zion. *The Palestinians have to change their leaders, covenant, attitude, schoolbooks, incitement, brainwash and.......than the isolation will stop and the conflict will end. This is the only message Israel must give! The time of 'goodwill gestures is over for they have proven to be futile! Israel just must make sure that it always has to sell what the world wants and *that will take the air out of the BDS balloon!
4. What kudos did Israel get for evacuating Gaza? All is useless
Alan ,   SA   (04.22.16)
5. Gazans will not Demiliterize so fast
Zola   (04.23.16)
A seaport would look benevolent but I believe it will be used to arm gazans with better weapons . No one wants the Gazans enmasse they fear their militancy and radicalisation plus there is fear they will take jobs What are needed a technoligal breakthroughs to monitor Demilitirization like the tunnel technology and technological breakthroughs in living better In highly density populated areas - like Hong Kong and Singapore . Gazans ought be allowed to settle overseas in hundreds of thousands in the Islamic lands of the Turkey the Gulf states and in the North Sinai Sooner or later Gaza. Has to undergo an a ideological moderation and a creativitve focus . Gaza is there because of the Rejection of the 1930s Partition Papers and the 1939 Genocide paper of Britain and Islam at St James London in mid 1939 .
6. It is amazing how naive many Jews are
Bernie ,   USA   (04.25.16)
Arabs are not interested in divorcing Jews or making peace with them. They will never accept 80% or 90% of what they seek. They want it all. Anything less than 100% is viewed by them as a failure. Unlike Jews they are patient. They can wait. They can wait 50 years, 100 years or more but they will always demand 100% of what they want (destruction of Israel). They are just waiting for an opportune moment when to cause that destruction. Why can't the Jewish optimists can face reality?
7. Your article about helping Gaza
Richard Roberts ,   Fargo ND USA   (04.25.16)
You keep saying what Israel should do for Gaza, in exchange for disarming. They have done all that and more, the day they left. This includes GIVING them businesses, a port, and an airport. IT DIDN'T WORK. When has GAZA ever agreed to disarm, and not attack.
8. Answer to BDS
Shaul melloul ,   Boston   (04.26.16)
BDS is an organization whose mission statement is to boycott Israel, not only its produce from the west bank but anything from any area in the whole of Israel. I understand that Palestinians and other leftist groups around the world want to boycott Israel .unfortunately it is the extreme leftist Israelis that are feeding this misinformation about Israel to all these other groups , the will say and do anything to please the master financiers I Europe to keep the money flowing to their pockets, it is these Israeli leftist that must be stopped from dissemitting lies
9. What Israel should do about BDS
Marjorie S Rosenfeld ,   Plano, TX USA   (04.27.16)
Nothing sets my teeth on edge more than hearing about Israel's "illegal occupation and illegitimate settlements." All of Western Palestine was reserved for World Jewry by the 1922 Mandate for Palestine. Arabs got vast territories elsewhere. And the so-called Partition of Palestine never happened because the partition resolution was a U.N. General Assembly resolution, and these are never binding and function only as recommendations--a recommendation which the Arabs violently rejected, leaving the Mandate for Palestine as the legally valid document. Know where Israel's eastern border is? Israel's 1994 peace treaty with Jordan gives the border between these two states as the middle of the course of the Jordan and Yarmouk Rivers! That means all of Western Palestine, except for Gaza which Israel voluntarily left in 2005, is part of the Land of Israel. What the Israeli Government should do is accept the Levy Report and start reminding the world of Israel's true legal position. Why Israel should be pressured to give some of its land to people who have been trying for years to kill Jews and Israelis is more than I can understand. Nor, I imagine, can any other sane person.
