1. Golan
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (05.05.16)
Major General Golan in his speech personifies a morality which, if permitted to make itself felt at all levels of society, will make a significant contribution to the development of Israel as the great country it ought to be. By contrast, those would vilify Golan, will, either inadvertently or deliberately, contribute to its eventual demise. That would be a tragedy of the utmost proportion and a betrayal of the Jewish people.
2. I thought his speech was thought provoking and in no way
BUILD BABY BUILD !!!   (05.05.16)
should be not be misconstrued to mean anything but positive for Israel. If you must scramble it to mean anything else, you are the one with the problem, not he. So many 'arm chair generals' this one is not he has a functioning brain his critics do not.
3. Time to clean out the stinking "Top". The fish is smelly....

4. G-D BLESS GEN. GOLAN! He's leadership caliber Israel needs!
Rafi ,   US   (05.05.16)
What a great guy! A rare leader who actually cares about the direction & moral compass of the country - instead of his own political fortunes. Compare to Bennett, Barak, BB, etc, etc.
5. Anywhere in the world
Hunt S Cross ,   England   (05.05.16)
The problems to which Gen. Golan refer sadly apply to any nation in the world. It is greatly to Israel's credit that you have someone in the general's position who publicly makes the point that he does. In most countries that would not happen. Gen. Golan's calm and thought-provoking address is fitting for this day. He should be listened to by public figures everywhere.
6. A new benchmark in despicable, Leftist indoctrination has

been set!
7. #1:Trust me, you've done your share of "betrayal" dear, dumb
(05.05.16)
Bertram of Londonistan. This cretin's utterance is the absolute lowest of the low one can achieve, as a representative of this great Jewish Nation. It shows clearly the abysmal level of education we have offered our children/leaders. You can surely afford your high-perched, shrill Euro-exuberance of "progressive" values. We can not. Our military should know this, our leaders should be aware of this. Luckily our people KNOW this and we shall not be led into suicidal death once again by ignoramuses like you. I'm telling you this as a friend. Stop this nonsense!
8. The Political reaction 2 his speech is a barometer 2 how ...
Jew-C ,   JewLandia (Israel)   (05.05.16)
correct and on point he is.
9. Note who is defending him
i ,   jerusalem   (05.05.16)
This moral relativist has spent too much time with our lunatic leftist academia. We should encourage the various top position holders to mouth off frequently. It helps the rest of us map out where the hazardous waste dumps lie.
10. Yair Golan, shame on you
C   (05.05.16)
you really need to learn more about the rise of hitler and nazi germany. the systematic, sadistic plan by an entire state apparatus to annihilate the entire jewish population of europe, including one and a half million children, is unique. the war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated by the third reich against the most vulnerable and defenceless was and even today, remains unprecedented. talking of moral depravity, and self destruction, is a defeatist untruth. the jewish state is fighting murderous enemies who would annihilate the entire nation if they had the means to do so. israel has been fighting these enemies since before the declaration of independence. the purity of arms that you so rightly cherish must be maintained, but not at the cost of sacrificing the lives of israeli civilians. as in every society, there are people in israel, who commit crimes, at times for ideological reasons. it cannot be accepted that these few be allowe to taint the entire nation through the mouth of a great soldier. while our enemies continue to plot against us, the jewish state sets up field hospitals to treat their wounded. the sick of hamas family members are treated in the best israeli hospitals. israel does all she can to spare enemy civilians during wars. the enemy could have had peace and even a state for decades now, but it prefers to sacrifice its children to shaheed operations and use them as human shields. the enemy teaches and preaches to its children to hate and murder jews and promises them wealth and unlimited sex in paradise if they die as shaheeds. iran, who does not even have a natural border with israel, declares on a continual basis that its goal is the annihilation of the jewish state. the sovereign jewish state survives only due to the courage and spirit of her people and the will of our most holy g-d. may hashem bless you and keep you and guide you.
11. Gen. Ya'alon
C   (05.05.16)
the criticism of gen. yair golan is just and fair. there is no attempt to criticise tzahal as a whole. it is true that senior officers in particular need to teach their men values and conscience. it is the particular words and speech of gen. golan that are being criticised, and for just reasons.
12. To No. 7.
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (05.06.16)
O nameless one, your post speaks for itself. So, Israel should join the ranks of those countries which cannot afford to have human values. A great achievement.
13. #12-You know who I am: I'm the One breathing down Your neck
(05.06.16)
when You're asleep... :-)) . It's a war out here and in war the niceties of "human values" are being put aside. Beheading one's neighbours/raping young chidren is obviously also an aspect of "human behaviour". Don't pretend to be THAT clueless, Bertram of Londonistan! We are bloody humane to a fault and it's time to end that unfortunate (for our Region) run. Now, go and fight the "Islamophobia" you surely are losing your sleep over. Go & work hard for the imminent coming of The Hidden One!

israel has human values in abundance. the uk would be lucky to have israel's human rights record.
15. To No. 14.
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (05.06.16)
Yes - Israel does have human values. And yes - the UK has much to learn. However, I see similar internal forces at work in both societies which are out to destroy those values. But I guess you want to play the holier than thou game.
