The USA forced the native Americans off their lands and onto reservations in some of the poorest land quality areas of the country. To this day, the native Americans have the worst education, healthcare, and infrastructure facilities in the nation. The USA has no high moral grounds (or any other kind) to lecture Israel about its handling of the local Arabs. None. For that matter, you don't see native Americans stabbing and shooting citizens. Or blowing up buses, cafes, libraries, or flying jets into buildings. Israel was formed by the UN, which makes its existence more 'legal' than the USA, which stole every inch of land form the native Americans. Time for the USA to shut up and let Israel deal with the Arabs as it has to. The native Americans decided against perpetual war, the Arabs haven't yet come to that decision.

There apparently is some limit to Netanyahu's ability to manipulate the US.. For C - The US got out of Iraq because Iraq no longer wanted the US there. After destroying the country and taking 45 KIA and over 200,000 WIA, the US didn't want to stay and bleed anymore. Are they getting tougher about northern Cyprus too? Turkey invaded the land, expelled Greeks and then replaced the population with ethnic turks from Turkey. First of all, the Quartet started out years ago with a somewhat suitable set of guideliines for peace. Problem was that the Pals didn't like it, so they became obstacles and made demands. The Quartet lowered their demands to suit the Pals and then the Pals became obstacles again - which pissed off the Quartet. The Quartet pretty much abandoned the whole idea, but left Tony Blair to try to bridge the gap and it just never happened because the last thing the Pals want is peace....because the sad reality is that there are no REAL PALestinian leaders or palestinian cohesion to deliver it. The Quartet is a joke.

Israel's founders would not be in agreement with the continued expropriation of Palestinian land and the treatment of the Palestiniain people. The sad truth is that if David Ben Gurion, Moshe Dayan, and Golda Meir were alive today they would be branded as traitors by much of the right wing in Israel. The Six Day War was not launched to occupy the West Bank or take the Sinai. Israel's leaders had no intention of permanently taking over either area and ruling over millions of people. There is not one country on our planet that calls the West Bank Judea and Samaria and there is not one country that believes the West Bank is part of Israel. The sad thing is that today most Israelis think there is nothing wrong about the way Palestinians are being treated or the way more and more Palestinian land is taken. Zionism was never about becoming the oppressor and stealing another people's land. Israelis can call Jews who disagree with the policies of Netanyahu "self haters" and call everyone else who disagrees with their government "anti semities" but at the end of the day the entire rest of the world is not wrong.

There is a big difference. However, governments come and go. Judea and Samaria have belonged to Jews for more than 4,000 years and always will. We Jews did not survive Auschwitz to have our rights taken from us by temporary politicians, who will soon be gone. If i'm not mistaken settlement expansion was halted in the past to start negotiations but nothing came of it. If the the occupiers of the West bank want a state I don't think Israel would stand in their way. Israel gave up GAZA and the Sinai 2 out of 3. What makes people think they won't do it again.

my original post pointed out the lies of ben rhodes and obama that led to the iran deal. these lies and confabulations are set forth in a very long article in the nyt magazine. rhodes admits that they lied to the press and to congress. obama made a deal with the totalitarian genocidal shia terror regime of iran and started to do so in 2012 without consulting congress. obama did not present this deal to congress because he knew that he did not have the required votes to pass it as a treaty. the deal is a sham. it is not legally binding. as the state department has admitted, it is simply a political commitment, like a gentlemen's agreement. furthermore, the deal as is left much of iran's nuclear weapons program intact and expires in ten years. its verification mechanism is basically non-existent. the supporters of the deal can be found among members of the iran project and the ploughshare foundation. the majority of congress and of the american people have been against this deal which has not even been signed by khameini and obama. so it is not even an executive agreement. that is why state has referred to it as a political commitment.
