2. YNET, I love it! Israel ‘Strong and Modern‘
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (05.09.16)
Unfortunately, Israel is not modern enough for me. And it is too late to correct the situation. Climate Change will make Israel uninhabitable by 2100. So enjoy it while you can.
3. Stand strong with total self respect, Israel!
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.09.16)
No more pandering to our mortal "Palestinian" foes. No more pandering to the U.N. and E..U. and other pathetic bullies. Stand strong with total self respect, Israel. There are NO limits to who we are and what we can do!
4. Shalom, Arbia Jost, and Thank You
ASTRONAUT ,   USA   (05.09.16)
for your comment that serves twofold: 1.) to prove that Adolph H. was and is, Beelzebub, the serpent, the devil incarnate; and 2.) to prove the words of Hatikvah - Israel's National Anthem - that after 2,000 years, G-d has established His House at the top of the mountains; exalted above the hills. Go in peace, Arbia.
5. #2 Rich. Enjoy your hoax while you can
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.09.16)
Leave it to you to trot out more stupid, ridiculously wrong global warming fear mongering. More rubbish from the same idiots who told us New York City would be underwater as of last June. Call someone in New York, Rich. They aren't underwater. Dumbass. Enjoy your hoax while you can, Rich.
6. Israel more modern than Canada
Tova ,   Canada   (05.09.16)
Having been in Israel a number of times it is amazing that Israeli people are much more advanced than Canadians - who are very behind any western nation. Israel has much more freedom than Canadians.

9. The writer does not know the meaning of "a percent".
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (05.10.16)
"The CBS also reports a 87 percent increase in motor vehicle use in the country since its founding. In 1951, there were only 34,103 licensed vehicles on Israeli roads..." The same error repeats itself in the article several times Apparently, the Israelis are not as smart as they believe they are.
10. #2 Crazy cannok

11. #2 Climate change??? LOL!

The climate hasn't changed in 3000 years. What happened Rich? Eat a bad felafel in 1975 and you've had a bad attitude since? You'd be better off working on Attitude Change.

16. #9 You're right
Guy ,   Kiryat Ono   (05.10.16)
Ben Gurion himself didn't know how exponents worked, either, but that didn't stop him from erroneously claiming that Jewish socialist labor would outproduce Arab capitalist labor in orange yields. The whole premise is ridiculous, as if car ownership was a victory. It's just a consequence of Israel's lack of *rapid* mass transit.
17. #2: They're not ready to hear it yet
Guy ,   Kiryat Ono   (05.10.16)
Of course you're right, and no economically mobile person will stay put once "khamsin" sandstorms cover half the calendar and children need to wear face masks on their way to school. But now is a great time to make a killing renting out construction cranes while gullible people pile this sandbox sky-high with concrete.

The article posits that "Almost half of world's Jews live in Israel." It would be worthwhile to examine the source of the statistic that, "there are about 14.3 million Jews worldwide," and research it's accuracy after a full generation or intermarriage and patronal lineage. I suspect that there are not 14.3 million halachic and that perhaps many more that half the world's Jews do live in Israel.
