1. The IDF is the army of the people
rachel ammon ,   Israel   (05.16.16)
We, my friends an myself, are fully backing and honoring the courageous and responsible words of Defense Minister Ayalon. Learn from the past and beware the beginnings. There is no exception. Rachel Ammon
2. lapid shows himself to be without brains
hymie   (05.16.16)
lapid says the power of the idf is not in its weapons but it is in its morality, and ability to ask questions of ethics and purity of arms. of course it is good to have proper code of conduct as soldiers cannot be random executionners. only a non combat idf like lapid would gloss over the idf weaponry, skill and deployed manpower. that is what counts in the pinch. not yaalon or golan's preoccupation with ethics but idf firepower, personnel and strategy. lapid is unfit to lead. and yaalon and golan need to be relieved of duty as they are not focussed on taking care of terror, hamas and hezbollah.
3. gutless bibi
marcel   (05.16.16)
you cannot get a more gutless israeli than bibi if reports are true that he takes in herzog with a construction freeze. he has no principles, zero other than to stay in office. his gaza campaigns like those of olmert and livni stunk and didnot accomplish much. he talks a big game but begs others, constantly begs others. no one forced him to run for office. he is not leadership material and his idf resume belies zero achievements personally other than getting shot. he seems to have no idea on how to attack and defend. he justs flails around. so herzog now says according to reports that his joining would force israel back to the table with abbas as if israel has to be forced. bibi is one gutless jew period.no rehabilitation is p ossible.
4. Are we still convinced that "Bogie will show them!"(Arabs)?!

5. here we go again
BAB ,   Jerusalem   (05.16.16)
How many more times do we have to hear the full quotation from the deputy IDF chief Golan? He's getting the kind of mileage that many politicians would be thrilled to have. Wait a minute! Is he pushing toward a political career after his job expires? If the public needs to be warned of inappropriate behavior, that's the defense minister's job, not a serving army general. This time Bibi is right. That general should be free to express unpopular opinions in the military and/or governmental forums to which he has been summoned for consultation. Amateur spokespersons can cause untold damage, due to the massive journalistic coverage Israel has in the international media. Please spare us for having to relive this controversy every Monday and Thursday.
6. in a democracy the military does not set policy
C   (05.16.16)
ya'alon is wrong to claim that members of the military can say whatever they want. the military is suburdinate to the civilian leadership. the military is not supposed to be a political organisation. members of the high command are not supposed to make speeches that are historically inaccurate and harmful to the state. if a member of the military feels that he has received an illegal order, he can appeal through the command chain, or else resign and and join the political process.
7. the idf
gerard ,   natanya isra\el   (05.16.16)
tsahal is the most human army in the world
8. dumb &dumber
uire   (05.16.16)
since when military generals are allowed to to play politics ? this is a recipe for trouble and israel's leadership is being led instead of leading.b natanyahoo shows no guts and determination in regard to this"hiccup" and the public knows it!
9. PM s clarification meeting
tomer ,   jerusalem   (05.16.16)
ya'alon has to be commended for his remarks to IDF top generals. This is what we expect from our military leadership.Since our plotical leadership is running our state into very 'muddy" waters, we rely on our clear headed generals, the last sane "body" ,besides the high-court of justice.
