1. Israel: unless there is clear & direct threat, STAY OUT!
Rafi ,   US   (05.19.16)
in the Mid East no good deed goes unpunished (the scorpion & frog parable...) For Israel, no clear benefit to be gained... totally defend own turf (Golan).. but otherwise do not get involved in the Syrian cauldron!
2. No thanks
Avi L   (05.19.16)
3. Policy made on wishful thinking
Avi L   (05.19.16)
4. NO, Israel should NOT in any way be involved in Syria..
Beary White ,   Norway   (05.19.16)
.. We have USA, Russia, and some NATO-forces in the battlefield. There is no need for Israel to get involved in a war, which is a natural phenomena controlled by their pagan god, allah. "By sword you shall live and by sword you shall die." The islamic ideology is based on death and terror, not only towards the rest of the world but mostly inwards onto their clans. Even we know islam is killing a million Christians on decade periode, they are killing even more Islamic members in the same periode. Compared to ebola and other diseases, islam is the worst. So, just let us use the words of a famous politician; "Let allah sort it out.."
5. yadlin wrong again
ed   (05.19.16)
yadlin was an air force man-good-he did some good for israel. as a political candidate, he reminds me of general baidetz who once advoc ated giving golan to syria. yadlin's advice is next to useless. israel has enough on its plate without taking on internal syrian matters. like lebanon-stay the hell out of syrian internal affairs. as general yaalon properly said( and he will still have a role on security in the security committee and possibly foreign affairs) golan is israelis cannot be breached. any iran and hezbollah forayss from that border against israel have to be wiped out.and transfers of arms to hezbollah knocked out. and that is it. as for golan, israel and bibi have to say nothing period. its not up for discussion. it belongs to israel and nothing the state department or obama say will change that whehter they recognize it as israeli or not in the meantime, yadlin should keep quiet.
6. Nice CYA, Israel started it all with their Saudi tools
Carol ,   NYC   (05.19.16)
The world knows Assad didn't start an uprising against itself and cause the deaths of 100s of thousands of Syrians. We all remember Lieberman's so-called secret meetings with the Saudis back in 2010, reported in Israeli papers. He managed to convince them to start the uprising. Sure, this will end up in ICC and the facts will come out. Assad is supported by ALL secular people in Syria, including secular Sunnis. You're just going to have to live with that, and the blood on your hands which never seems to bother your citizenry.
7. Exactly the opposite. Yadlin joins the imbeciles of Ynet.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (05.19.16)
8. do NOT be FOOLISH
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (05.19.16)
when the US got rid of Saddam all hell broke loose and the ISIS finally took over in that region amidst a lot of anarchy. The Arabs are not ready for a democratic government or democratic leader; they need a despot like Saddam or Asad. Let us learn from other's mistakes and not learn to make the same mistakes. We don't need ISIS on our border.
9. Assad Must Go
Hadi Eid Ph.D ,   Monteverde, Metn   (05.19.16)
Gen. Amos How about "a good Arab is a dead Arab"? Are you a new "good Samaritan?" I thought Assad has been doing a good job for you?!
10. Chemie
Bernd   (05.19.16)
Didnt you read that the USA was responsible for Chemical Wepoans transported from Lybia to Syria? So Israel better stay away. Most of the world is also PRO ASSAD because he is better than ISIS. And who will come after Assad? This stupid guys will fight for 20 years like the Somalis. Do you think Sunnis will love you? They will say you do it only because you think its good for you.Look-even Asylum seekers and Immigrants in Europe say:Dirty Christians,we will take over the land, your children will marry muslims and get many babys... Wake up.They will never think good about Israel.
11. No Trump card can be played,,,,
Robert S Jackson ,   Washington D.C.   (05.19.16)
No trump card can be played at this stage of the the game, judgement is over. Israel should have been gotten rid of this murderous despot that borders her. One thing about Bush he told Saddam you got to go, that's the difference between him and Obama and 300,000+ dead and still counting. Israel you will quake. May 19, 2016 8:04 AM EST.
12. What an idiotic notion:may they slaughter each other forever
(05.19.16)
We leave the phony "humanitarian concerns" to the Meretz-crowd. This is a blessing in form of...the Religion of Peace! Best of results to all parties concerned, Insallah!
13. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (05.19.16)
ERDOGAN wants to buy Israel gas instead of Russias and the pipelines must go through Syria. That is the real tuth about Syria. Millions are sufferign so the Turks can have their economy. It is a shame on Israel to allow this to happen.
14. #9 - Assad is a "good shia"
Avi L.   (05.19.16)
So why don't write a letter to Teheran too ...
15. Why would you want Assad go. Arabs busy killing ...
leo ,   usa   (05.19.16)
each other instead of trying to kill Jews - what better situation can you wish for. Wasn't it Begin who said once regarding Iran-Iraq war that "we wish success to all sides". So, intellectual elite, why don't you get smart.
16. "First and foremost, we should do this for moral reasons."
Moshe ,   Israel   (05.19.16)
Is it moral that China has conquered Tibet and oppresses its people ? Thus, the "light upon the nations" should intervene and free this country. Likewise, is it moral that Turkey has occupied part of independent Cyprus ? Israel too must fix this injustice and send army units there. And so continue in other problematic places and become the world's policeman. Such adventures raise the question whether it will remain enough IDF power to defend Israel. Regarding Syria, as long as Russia is strongly backing Assad's regime, any armed effort to depose him is likely to yield military confrontation with this super power.
17. Just as Israel doesn't like France, Egypt, the U.S. or U.N.
A ,   Belgium   (05.19.16)
butting into their affairs, neither should Israel, unless it's an absolute matter of self defense , get involved in Syria's mess. Let nature run its course, arabs slaughter others, including other arabs, as part of their islamic nature.
18. #6 What a bunch of crap!
A ,   Belgium   (05.19.16)
This conflict began with the failed "arab spring", and continued with Daddy Bush and cowboy George Jr. deciding to bring "democracy' to the islamic barbarians in Iraq, which of course failed. Add to that Oblabla's "red lines" which he threatened Assad with but kept pushing back until they disappeared completely and his fear of Putin and there is the picture. If anyone has blood on their hands, it's the U.S., especially when they bomb hospitals and civilians. Amazing how people like you manage to live your lives with your heads stuck deeply into a certain part of your own anatomy.
19. what a lot of propaganda .
