1. Pompous piece of work...good bye
Al   (05.20.16)
He abandons his soldiers on the alter of his morality and then has the hubris to wax poetic about ethics. Good bye and don't let the door hot your ass as you exit the room.
2. yaalon, the good soldier and the shapira report
manny   (05.20.16)
firstly, politics is not for the overemotional- yaalon had all what it takes to make an excellent defennse minister. he attacked hezbollah without reservation. but he adopted bibi's overcautios calm for calm approach which did not do much against hamas as shapira pointed out. he was slow acting against the tunnels for whatever reason. shapira did not make this up. idf needed to be creative, use asymmetrics and find ways to take the initative instead of just reacting to hamas. so his record is mixed and bibi's approach was not great at all. as for john kerry wishing him well. kerry was a hippocrite since yaalon attacked him for being an obsessive at israeli's expense. he and blair just blatantly interfered in israeli politics trying to insert herzog into the govt when in fact israelis do not want him. herzog is not a bad person but he doesn't have strength, and people know it and don't want him. he is now finished. yaalon could have had the foreign ministry but he got overly emotional. he should reconsider, and control his emoitiions as he is just too obsessed with ethichs when arabs are slicing idf soldiers in the neck and brain. and israeis waited for yaalon to hit hamas hard and it never came. let us see shapira's report.
3. Oh boy, so we won't be rid of him either! He'll take some
(05.20.16)
time off, will talk to spin-meisters and return with a vengeance as yet another "Mr.Clean Integrity/Mossiah" with promise to save us all.....and the idiots will follow
4. For some reason my eyes remain dry.....
(05.20.16)
5. Real Leaders Dont break & run,he did
NoGreatLeader ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.20.16)
Real leaders even in political defeat like Churchill don't break and run his many accomplishments in the defending of the country are to be praised sad like many military leaders in the world this does not necessarily translate into a great political leader as EGO gets in the way often worse he challenged the nations morality at a time when Jews were being mericilessly murdered and attacked in the streets of Israel a time when its citizens were on their knees begging for protection for their families this alone is enough of " a sin " for him to be gone .
6. On his way to ....Meretz ?
TheMaleEgo ,   Jerusalem Israel   (05.20.16)
7. God save us from "Leaders by Ethics"! This is stuff you can
(05.20.16)
only sell to second-graders...Moshe doesn't believe it himself, but what the heck: the ever so eager for "justice &righteousness"-crowd is ready to lap it up, no ketchup or mustard needed....
8. And what about fighting fire with fire ?
barbara ,   Haifa   (05.20.16)
What is ethics going to give us except being victims, again ?
9. stop cyring for yaalon you hippocrites
jay   (05.20.16)
the hippocrites of labour are now praising yaalon when they criticized him unceasingly for saying forget about peace for several generations. yaalon had plenty of chances and did not do the job adequately. and he did not do thingls like retake philadelphi and flooded it which egypt did. why did egypt do it and not israel-because of yaalon togehter with bibi. yaalon was forthright with hezbollah and blocked them more than ehud barak. my guess is that israel producting commando generals who specialize in small operations are not suited or trained in how to take over a larger block of land like the bekaa or beirut etc etc. whatever the reason, and bibi has something to do with it, yaalon was primarily defensive which does israel little good. now herzg invites yaalon to come over.. may be the 2 of them can give up the golan to isis for declarations.
10. no 5-very good point
jere   (05.20.16)
yalalaon had a mixed record, good vs hezbollah, not good vs hamas and its tunnels. hisgreatest fault was attaching himself to bibi who like herzog sweats every decisioin and is not nreally cut out to be a leader. on the other hand, no 5 has a good point. why cut and run cause you didn\t get your way. bogie, idf soldiers have their brains smashed, can barely talk and function and you talk about ethics-give me aa break.
11. Strange how every senior product
DT ,   TA Israel   (05.20.16)
of the IDF either comes invert Left in certainly ends up that way. Good riddance.
12. chapeau moshe yaalon and hope to see you back...
tomer ,   jerusalem   (05.20.16)
Its people like Moshe yaalon we long for. Even though not from a party i vote for i salute him for his civil-courage,straightness,backbone,honesty and for his deep commitment for securing the future of our state. Take your well earned brake and come back with new energy. You will be missed not only by likudniks..
13. ehud barak, yaalon and lieberman
harry   (05.20.16)
ehudbarak was ousted from office as he was a total flop against terror. when he came back under bibi, his gaza operation did not do much, and he was reluctant vis vis hezbollah. yaalon did more vs hezbollah but he sat back in the gaza operation letting down israeli civilans for 50 days who said ... go in and do the job. barak and yaalon says there are signs of facism. lets us look at this- idf treat syrians and palestinians in the field at cost to us. they bend over backwards to give the arabs the benefit of the doubt.they provide emergency services to arabs in distress. there are the odd transgressors who exceed orders as they see their colleagues butchered. and they are dealth with properly not by chief judge yaalon or barak but by the mlitary court. no, israelis would be a huge jump to be nazi like in the face of huge arab provocatio. barak and yaalon are not the only ones who can lead the idf. let us see what liebermana can do and he might surprise us because the arabs see him as no nonsense putin and he may well be like him. reinviting herzog into the govt now is a waste of tme. the man is a born coward.
14. typical arrogance of the left. get over it you have no monop
ralph   (05.21.16)
monopoly on ethics. the ethics of the current left are wrong. and naive and dangerous in our current world circumstances. you have been ;lead astray by your uber leftist professors. as orwell once said. you espouse things only an intellectual could believe.
15. Finally a respectable Likud member!
is-rael   (05.21.16)
Ya'alon is giving us hope that old decent Israel is still alive. Begin started the downhill slide of the party. Ya'alon may turn it around. I will be glad to greet him in the PM's office soon.
